Do you eat fast food - I had a KFC Zinger burger meal today

Featured Replies

Well I only eat KFC about 5 times a year....   anyway, I went and had a Zinger burger meal which includes small fries and refill 7up,  price was ok for 119 baht.

I can tell you I was pleasantly surprised today,  the bun was Thai fresh,  the chicken was a good size piece and was tasty, it was moist and had some flavor,  the lettuce was kinda on the small side but what was there was fresh.  The fries weren't cold as usual, they were warm which is rare.

overall, it was reasonable .....  and it was only 119 baht,   the only down side was it didn't really taste spicey, it needed more zinger in it,  but next time maybe not so good, it's a bit hit & miss with KFC.

do you ever try fast food  ?

KFC in Thailand is disgusting.

Much prefer it back home.

I was at MacDonalds yesterday and had a Big Mac. I was also surprised that it was better than expected. It's still nowhere near as good as RockMe Burger or Smash Daddy's Smash Burgers, just go for the kids really.

Fast food is okay now and then, but it's not that expensive, I paid 380 for 3 people, quite reasonable.

Is it healthy? I don't know. But lots of things are not healthy. So, if from time to time we feel like eating something like that: just do it!

I think your right ...  eat it in moderation is fine.

i have a burger king every 4 months when i go to Bangkok, mostly i avoid junk, it's just entertainment, low food quality

I'll occasionally have fast food on a 'lazy' day or if I'm feeling slightly shabby due to being out the previous night. The Mrs likes KFC - snackbox or spicy wing zaab (always has fries). I prefer a McDonald's - big Mac or couple of burgers.

The thing that amazes me at Mc'D's is the price difference between a hamburger and a cheeseburger. 40 Baht difference for one slice of plastic processed cheese.

I am no fan of fast-food chains. But because they are international companies, often based in the USA, I am sure that they have lots of regulations to make sure the quality is good enough.

I have no insider information, but I would be very surprised if street vendors and many restaurants in Thailand would follow all the regulations which those fast-food chains follow.

Often high in fat and high processed carbs plus salt, all to make it taste good, but funny enough not filling enough so end up eating extra after

totally agree on this ...  a KFC, McD, Chest' , all of them,  the kitchens will be spotless, there won't have a bug issue,  but if you looked in  Thai food kitchen you probably would never eat at their restaurant again

Sometimes I eat a (double) whopper. My gf is a fan of these things.

We are filled up with those things. They are pretty big and substantial.

I think we had KFC twice the last 2 years. Once because we travel with her Nephews and Niese, and once because I was so hungry, and needed something quick in a 13 hour drive where we where on a time scedule to reach Koh Phangan ferry.

Texas fried chicken beats KFC by a bunch.

Exactly what I was gonna say.

I rarely eat fast food though but I guess I eat a fair bit of fast food adjacent type stuff.

For example, is Bonchon Korean fast food. I think not really.

If I'm gonna eat a burger for example, I do it so infrequently that I want to go for higher price and quality than a fast food chain.

But these lines can be debatable.

Isn't pad krapow fast food?

7/11 meals are quicker and tastier than KFCs breaded chicken.

I think some may taste better,  but not all.  I've had a CP pork burger with cheese and felt ill during the night.  I prefer toasted sandwiches now.

We normally use 7/11 yes at PTT, and as horrible as any other fast food. Different brand, but same same, processed food.

Zinger burgers are okay, a lot better than the rest of KFC fare.

Enjoy Texas chicken occasionally, they have some good wraps and the mash potato with gravy is pleasant.

So by that Bonchon is not fast food but pad krapow on the street is fast food.

Zinger burger is one of my fast food favorites... Finish off with a 12 baht ice cream cone ;-)...

The one thing I would ding them for would be the mealy french fries!... Mc Donald's has a 99 baht burger set and the chicken sandwich is pretty good and they give you gobs of fries with American ketchup 😉

The Zingers are pretty good, as are the Spicy McChicken burgers, but I like the Texas Chicken Mexican Wrap best of the three.

It's a bummer Texas Chicken discontinued their coleslaw. I like KFC's coleslaw okay, but Texas' was much better.

No, I try to limit because all the medications in the world can't undo the damage caused by these crap foods.

But you guys are bolder and braver than I am still eating crap foods at advanced ages.

Zingers are great!

But my favorite fast food chicken is roadside grilled half a chicken with spicy dip sauce som tam and sticky rice! washed down with an iced Heineken 😉

I used to order a McDonald's breakfast a couple of times per year, always the same meal:  A sausage McMuffin with Egg, hash browns and coffee.

The last time I had it, I was really disappointed, it was greasy and tasteless.  It's been several years since then and I haven't been tempted to repeat the experience.

If I want fast food, it will be fried rice or pad grapow or Kao mun gai!
