Ironically, this might actually be a good strategy. Trump is a known quantity, not too many people will change their mind at this late date. Harris is still trying to formulate her public persona. Unfortunately, she isnt very good at it. If Trump gives her the chance to screw up, she will.

As is the case for most elections, older people tend to use absentee ballots to vote. As they did in 2016, when Trump won.

 

But this year, they are mostly Democrats.
