At the very least you should feel sorry for my Mrs. She has to look at me now and again although she tries to avoid it.

I am sorry for not apologising to/about your wife!

PS; At which school for the blind and disadvantaged did you meet her?

  • Why Do Older Expats Hate Younger Expats?   Thought it was the other way around.

  • I gave it try, and a few fast forward, and he is just a time thief. Good luck

  • I don't hate young expats at all (I don't even think about them actually so what's to hate?), but I don't particularly fancy MORONS (of any age).

Oooh, harsh. Apparently, I have a very good nature about me and I'm like a tasmanian devil in the sack (she says I smell like a dog).

I'm punching well above my weight though - I'm a 1/10, she's nudging a 2.5 😂

Drivers (actually everyone) hates cyclist because they're often incredibly selfish and arrogant.  They expect to have the rights of a car when it suits them (and get extremely angry when they don't), but then suddenly have the rights of a pedestrian when they face some sort of obstacle.

You seem to live amongst far more bitter people than I do.

I see a lot more good driving when I’m out on my bike than when I’m in my car - maybe because it’s easier for cyclists to see what’s going on around them.  I get far more smiles, waves and beeps of encouragement when I’m cycling.

Cars don’t actually have rights, road-users do, and those rights are pretty similar for pedestrians, steamroller operators and everyone in between.  If you can’t accept the rights of other road users, maybe you should not be in charge of a vehicle.

I think older expats hate younger expats because they cannot accept the validity of the opinion of other people with a different outlook on life.

If you detected any bitterness in my comment, that comes from you, not from me.

I think perhaps you misread my comment, as what you have written doesn't relate much to it.

"Swing and a miss", it appears.

The people I associate with don’t hate other people.

My experience, based on the smiles and courteous driving I experience when I’m out on my bike, is that “everyone” does not hate cyclists.

To be honest, I’m OK with younger expats as well

Every single girl that guy has put up in his videos looks like a bargirl. I can smell them through the screen just by the way they talk.

Exactly - hence the theory that, in time, he'll be sitting in a happy hour bar on Soi Buakhao breathing in the fumes and scowling at the young guys getting freebies.

Inevitable imho.

Thailand is a trap like that.

Yep.

Hate to admit it but Thailand is retard central.

On another thread on advice for someone moving to Thailand, one guy said "get a lobotomy or leave your brain at the airport."

Best advice ever.

Hell is being surrounded by clowns - imho anyway.

The nonsensical zaniness is fun at first but wears thin fast eh

He is stuck in Pattaya asking people to donate to his channel. I told him already on a livestream that he's better off going back to Australia since he will get hit with a medical bill eventually and will need to relocate anyway.

He hates the idea his gf had several elderly gentlemen who took care of his gf before him ?

He is just making up content for his coffe money collection. If you look at the content young or old making, there is a few trends that they all copy and steal from each other, and need to make controversers to make themselves look more interesting.

Everything longer than 3 min content is waste of time if you ask me. Make more shorter content videos, and add series of same content to attract viewers to come back.

Elderly expats hates me #1 #2 #3

It is a good story how his woman didnt leave him when he lost everything! Not often you hear those stories, but after two decades, I have seen and met several women who actually stood by their husband during difficult times.

This guy seems honest, but do not take my word for it, check it for yourself

Not expats generally but in Pattaya (particularly in & around Soi Buakhao) there are a bunch of bitter, wretched & sour old <deleted> who truly detest young westerners - and prolly themselves if the truth be told.

He ain't lying.

Rare example of a young white westerner living of his wife.

Apparently he was bumming around Hua Hin teaching Englishand met a Thai with $$$$$$$

Maybe the exception proves the rule!

PS. He's a bit of a plonker - made a video suggesting Brits were worse off than Thais / more in poverty etc.  Pointed out that the definition of poverty in both countries is VERY different & that Brits can claim welfare and get free housing, healthcare and dentistry etc but he wasn't having it.

But kudos to him though for turning the tables - he may be the only white man in history to ever manage to leech off a thai woman.

The video was just a continuous flow of BS and self delusion. Most of the older expats who have something going for them don't care about the younger expats. Why would or should they?  Good for him that he can find such great deals on a condo. What he misses is that what a younger person may want in a residence is not what an older person wants or needs. I do not need a communal BBQ area, or a party room. I do want proper concierge services including security. I  want to be in in an area close to some shops for convenience. He may not.Convenience and location comes at a price.  He might be willing to tolerate loud neighbours, but some people will not.

In respect to the younger expats referred to and their "wealth", most of them haven't got a pot to p into. Digital nomad is just another term for a drifter who relies on gig work to survive.  What exactly are most of these digital nomads? They do the jobs that do not require much social interaction with other humans. No need for social graces when the work assignment is emailed or made available on a dedicated website. No need to know how to speak or interact with people when all you do is address software issues or review documentation. These are the jobs best suited for people we used to call losers, guys who would wet themselves when they had to speak to a girl, people who had poor hygiene and who were not particularly attractive. Yes, there are exceptions, but that's what the majority of them are. They do not present a threat to anyone with social skills, even a 75 year old man.

I am weary of all the tales of successful day traders and bitcoin speculators and their vast wealth. If they are so wealthy why do they need to tell the world? Good for them and their mastery of the world. I am doing ok and that's all that matters innit?
