Best visa runs by air

Featured Replies

I like to time a vacation at the end of my Visas, re-entering as a tourist (best option for my status). Later I switch to ED in country.

Vientiane is still the best option right? What about Phnom Penh and Yangon?

One of my vacation stops are Jakarta and Singapore but i hear those are non-ideal. Same with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.

You mean you get a tourist visa wherever you go for your holiday?  If re-entering exempt why does it matter?

As per many of your previous posts..

Makes zero sense.

You can enter Thailand visa exempt currently 60 days.

Then negotiate next step.

Re you reference to Laos that country soon to change to eVisa.

You will not obtain visa Singapore

Are you asking what land border is the safest to cross in regards to being allowed to enter Thailand ?

Yeah, that's why he asked for "Best visa runs by Air" 😉

Why was he asking about which destination to go to ?

It wouldn't matter where he went because they would all arrive back at the same Thai airport .

It wouldn't matter matter he went to Vientiane or Phnom Penn because they would both arrive back at a BKK airport

Apparently, you intend to get a "Tourist Visa" for your return to Thailand.  Given recent changes, that means you will be applying via the eVisa system while out of Thailand, and staying there until it is approved.

Alternatively, you could just return visa-exempt, which which case border-bounce to Vientiane and back.  There are no reports of denials-of-entry for "come to much" / "stay to long" reasons.

if you have a longer-stay history in Thailand - Tourist-Visa or not - you would be wise to use one of the safe entry points like Nong-Khai, or pay an agent to "pre-clear" your arrival at either Bangkok airport.
