Georgealbert Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Picture from responders. A crash occurred on Sukhumvit Road in the Na Jomtien Subdistrict on December 10, at 12:50, when a vocational college student tragically lost his life after his motorcycle collided with the rear of an 18- wheeler trailer truck. Police Lieutenant Thanakorn Suetrong, deputy investigator at Na Jomtien Police Station, responded to the scene alongside rescue teams from the Sawang Rojanatham Sathan Foundation. At the site, approximately 300 metres from Sattahip Technical College, the body of 18-year-old Mr. Ekachai Sattawichayapich was discovered in a pool of blood. His face was severely crushed, and his skull fractured. He was wearing a vocational student uniform and was pinned beneath his pink-and-white Yamaha Scoopy motorcycle, which was heavily damaged from the collision. The trailer truck, an Isuzu 10-wheel vehicle with license plate from Chonburi, was parked along the shoulder of the road. Its rear trailer (license plate also fromChonburi) had been struck by the motorcycle. The driver, Mr. Chakkrit Kaewprasarn, 30, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. As officials prepared to transfer Mr. Ekachai's body to Sattahip KM 10 Hospital for an autopsy, his grieving mother and family arrived at the scene. Overcome with emotion, his mother embraced her son's lifeless body, calling out to him to wake up. Ms. Samranjit Phumee, Deputy Director of Student Affairs at Sattahip Technical College, who arrived at the scene after being informed of the incident, revealed that Mr. Ekachai was a first- year electrical engineering student. He had been on his way to a workplace interview for his internship when the accident occurred. Mr. Chakkrit, the truck driver, explained that he had parked his truck alongside several others while delivering asphalt for a road construction project about 200 metres away. Moments later, someone informed him that a motorcycle had collided with the rear of his trailer. He immediately called for emergency assistance, but the victim had already succumbed to his injuries. Authorities are investigating the incident further by reviewing nearby CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to determine the exact cause and ensure appropriate legal action is taken. -- 2024-12-11 2

Popular Post JBChiangRai Posted December 11, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2024 There is something in the young male psyche, it's the thrill of speed together with an unwavering overestimation of their skill. We have all seen the young guys speeding past us, weaving in and out without a care in the world. It's always boys, it's never girls. Three times my daughters came home from school to tell me one of the classmates killed himself on a motorcycle, and one of them was exactly this type of accident, up the back of a parked truck. His parents bought him a Kawasaki Ninja 400. My daughter had one too, but she drove it like a girl, I don't think she ever discovered it had a power band. One look at the tyres and you could see she never drove it fast. When I bought them their first scooters I took them down to the Government hospital, walked them through A&E and took them to the ward to see all the young guys there. I like to think it made a difference. 3

lordgrinz Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 If you can't avoid driving into the back of a parked 18-Wheeler in a construction zone, you probably should've never been given a license to operate a motorcycle in the first place, if he had one at all. 1
