Docs often or most are better than in NHS?...Not from what I have seen, with most foreigners returning to their home country when they get seriously ill,     and not only because of costs

I also agree what happened please explain,But now back in the uk after another go fund  job and what about travel insurance for that person or was it rejected the accident claim

I think that depends...      I've received outstanding treatment here from exceptional Doctors - but none of the operations were from life threatening injuries etc...

 

That said, costs permitting, I would be more than happy to have 'any' treatment here and trust the excellence of the medical profession here though I do question the levels of liability IF mistakes are made. 

 

The only reason I'd want to travel back to the UK is if the treatment I needed was not available here or IF I could not afford it.

With emergency cases he will be receiving quick treatment in the UK - all costs will be covered by NHS.

 

But with non emergency and elective cases the NHS can be horrendous. 

For example: My mother was in pain for well over a year waiting for a minor knee Op. 

Meanwhile, I'd encountered a similar injury and needed the same type of operation, after seeing the Dr here in Thailand I was operated on the next day (insurance cost about 300,000 baht).
