Immigration police in Sa Kaeo Province have arrested an Indian national for operating a business selling ice cream without a work permit and overstaying his visa. The arrest took place in the Muang Sa Kaeo area as part of a coordinated effort between local immigration officials and other authorities.

On December 13, at approximately 14:45 a team led by Pol. Col. Napattharaphong Supaporn, Superintendent of Immigration in Sa Kaeo Province, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Amornsak Saengwan and Acting Pol. Lt. Col. Pruek Chotiprukchukoon, launched an investigation into foreign nationals violating labour and immigration laws. The team worked alongside the Sa Kaeo Provincial Employment Office and the Internal Security Operations Command of Sa Kaeo.

Their investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Mahesh Singh, a 42-year-old Indian national. Mr. Singh was found selling ice cream near the entrance of Ban Lad Krasang Municipal School 2 in Muang Sa Kaeo District. He was accused of operating a business without proper authorisation, which is considered a violation of Thai labour laws, and overstaying his visa.

Authorities charged Mr. Singh with violating the Foreigners’ Working Management Emergency Decree of 2017, specifically under Section 8 for working without a valid permit, and Section 101 for engaging in unauthorised employment. Additionally, he was charged with overstaying his permitted duration of stay in Thailand.

Mr. Singh was taken into custody for questioning, and officials prepared a detailed arrest report. He was informed of his legal rights before being handed over to investigators at the Muang Sa Kaeo Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Finally these criminal scum are getting what they deserve.

Seriously though it's so petty it's comical. They even did a photo so you don't forget who's boss next time you're thinking of selling ice cream without a permit. 😂

Meanwhile some kid on a motorbike without a helmet is crashing and dying because the police won't enforce basic road laws. Too busy making sure tourists aren't sell ice cream I guess.

As ever, he is clearly working on behalf of an employer/franchise provider/supplier who is conveniently not mentioned in the story.

Great News!!   We can all sleep safely in Thailand, now that this heinous villain has been apprehended...

Now for his punishment...   Shot with a Magnum?  Beaten with DrumSticks? or just hit with Paddle Pops?

oh dear Georgealbert,    what a dangerous murderous criminal mind this fugitive must have,   he's been going around from soi to soi selling ice cream.

I'm wondering did he surrender quietly or did the police have to use a taser or similar to capture him.

What a dangerous person he is .....  he didn't care,  he just kept on selling ice cream.  hard to believe  !

Well done IO police,    another very deadly criminal off the streets.

a lot of sarcasm here today.. and although he is not committing a serious crime. He is working without a permit (with which most of you criticized in other OPs) and he is on overstay (which most of you criticized also. So what makes this Indian any different? Just because he was on overstay selling Ice-Cream?

A lady from Myanmar was arrested a couple monthis ago in our small town.  She was pushing a cart around selling coconut ice cream.  She said they told her she couldn't work for herself and fined her 25,000 baht.  She now works at a small restaurant owned by some friends of ours.  I think she is paying 5K/month to pay off the fine.

Good to arrest these culprits... this week there was a release of somebody who was convicted for 500 million fraud, there are many drugsdealers, maffia, youth with guns and knifes, traffic offenders, and many more crimininals in Thailand, but the an Indian man who makes a living in selling icecream without an impossible to get workpermit ( he is not allowed to do anything a Thai can do )and overstay visa is the worst here can happen.... Good job policeoffers.... do the easy things and let the big fishes get away, as they probably help you to gat an income raise.

So is it any different in your country? BTW, why are you here anyway? Ran out of things to complain about at home? How does any of this actually affect you personally? Thinking of opening an ice cream business, only to see all your dreams shattered?

Wonder if he was selling anything besides ice cream? Or perhaps he was there to recruit some of the young ones?

You think that he was a pimp looking for underaged girls to sell and also selling Yabba to school kids ?

In most countries,  they acquire and practice common sense ... in backward uneducated uncivilized places like here, that doesn't happen so one expects idiotic decisions here on a daily basis.
