His motivation was clearly not financial. He was annoyed at social media nor allowing conservatives to speak and noted how insane it was that all these nonsensical lefty narratives couldnt be challenged by fact.

It always amazes when people are to daft to know the true value of X. Sure if a guy like you buys it, it is worth half or much less than the purchase price. When somebody like Musk buys it, it is priceless. He plays on a whole different level. Can you tell me when your last purchase made you the most powerful; private citizen in the world?

Musk can afford to lose money on X, with what he has made on Tesla.

 

It's his toy to preach to the converted. As another poster has said, X lost 33% of its users.

 

How does it make him more powerful? It's the money he funneled to Trump that achieved more power.
