"Initially, police attempted to escort the man back to his room." Half naked and with a knife, is this not enough to warrent being held in jail to see if he is more of a threat?

  • Why? You can't see his didgeridoo!

Well, it's about bloody time..... It's been 2 or 3 days since I read about a Drunken Foreigner Causing Panic in Pattaya, who was Wandering around Naked & Armed with a Knife.

Sadly we still have many more weeks of high season

Between these guys and the young moronic hooligans from the UK, I too am praying for low season...please!  Too much vermin here now.

What has changed. You could get 30 days visa free before, now it's 60 days!

You call that a knife?

If you can see that on the picture, it must be a close friend to you. I am not really surprised!

I would be interested to hear your suggestions for how procedures could be amended to filter out this type of undesirable...

This is why I prefer a subtropical climate.

You see, tropical climates encourage this sort of jungle boogie thinking.

Living moment to moment bopping around the jungle no need to wear clothes they just get dirty and then it costs money to clean them.

Only two seasons - hot and wet and hot and dry.

Nope.  Gotta have the third season COOL.

As in San Francisco or maybe Santa Monica.

Warm afternoon, perfect evenings and cool mornings.

Can't run around naked in the North in the cool season.

Overnight lows in the 50s keeps the riff raff out. 👍

That's a good question, when you promote your country as if you're trying to sell $2 items at a swap meet you're going to get a pretty low level of tourism.

I can think of quite a few ways that they could promote the country to start attracting more affluent tourists, but they just don't seem to have the intelligence nor the vision to do such things. It would require the abolition of the wine taxes almost entirely, it would require the ability of wealthy tourists to get around easily which would mean short distance charters on prop planes and jets and easy access to helicopter travel, and several other things of that nature. Thailand just isn't up for that and it could be 50 to 100 years before the youth is involved in the control of the nation and they have the imagination for such things. The dinosaur is completely lack imagination and they are nothing but a destructive force holding the nation back.

Caused by a voyeur spying  through a peephole at half-naked man.

A foreign tourist caused a scene of panic in a Pattaya condominium early morning on December 21, when he wandered the building half naked, brandishing a knife and knocking on doors.

Yet another example of Pattaya's "high class" tourist!

Some time ago, I remember reading where residents in a condo were complaining about another resident waking around in a state of undress, knocking on other residents doors late at night. And they could not get anyone to help them stop the harassment.

Is this the same place and undressed individual?

As to the comment about carrying a knife (or whisk), added to the comments about Australian nationality plus the observation of the offending part indicating Jewishness.

I am wondering if the knife was used for self circumcision or he was knocking on doors for someone to provide a swap for the whisk?

But, for clarity, men of a certain age from Australian parents are likely to have been circumcised regardless of religion - that is as it was accepted back then.

My mate told me he saw it happen and he was armed with a whisk not a knife.😀

Reminded me of this scene:

He was so drunk that he forgot to don his underpants.

Quite a few people leave their jackets, umbrellas, bags, and mobile phones behind when they are absent-minded.

But very few leave home without it.

I'm not going to disagree with your whole opinion but if 5% tax on wine is enough to put affluent tourists off coming perhaps we measure affluent differently 🤔

As opposed to intoxicated Thai's? Not sure which one I fear more, but there are a lot more intoxicated Thai's here than tourists.

Have you seen what that lot do after a few scoops?

I know which concerns me more....

The number of countries that now qualify for Visa Exempt has changed a great deal.
