What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2025)

Featured Replies

Watched a movie called, "The Salt Path" starring Gillian Anderson as you've never seen her before, and Jason Isaacs, both of whom played their parts extremely well although the movie is probably not for everyone because it is very slow moving and there is no real action in it, and really revolves around a coast walk, with the history of how they ended up doing it being disclosed as the story moves on.

The woman wrote a book, which became a bestseller, about their journey (in more ways than one) and although she has said it is the true story, this has been questioned by a well-known newspaper in the UK.

Isn't The Platform dubbed? I use IMDb before downloading and they are too woke to state the language at the top, it's important info to most

Bonus Track 2023 indie movie

Coming of age before social media and Spotify in a queer musical British context.

I found myself tapping my feet throughout much of the movie.

No, I don't have restless leg syndrome. That's a compliment.

For me, it's a feel good movie that's earns it.

Bonus Track never pushes its agenda, is naturally funny as well as being tender, raw, authentic and ultimately rather sweet and moving.

It does say the original title is "El Hoyo" and all the actors names are Spanish.

I watched it in Spanish with English subtitles.

I'm the same. I almost always watch movies & tv shows with audio set to whatever country the film/show originates from and English subtitles, rather than watch a "dubbed" English audio where you can clearly see that the audio is not what the actors are saying.

Last night I finished  season 1 of The Asset (Legenden) and enjoyed it. It was recommended by  @BenCrew and a few other posters mentioned it. I had the audio set to Danish with English subtitles because it's much better when the audio matched whats coming out of the actors mouths IMHO rather than watch a dubbed English version.

Yep, much prefer subs to dubbed.

I put up with the dubbed version, though I agree, it wasn't very good.

I didn't find an English version. I will have to check again for it as I find it distracting to be reading all the text.

Anybody got recommendations on this? It's dropping now and I don't see it anywhere her in a search.

If somebody did post about it, they should have put the text of the title into their post, not just a pic or link...

If it's just dropping as you say, it's more than likely no one has seen it yet.

Gave up on Frankenstein.

Very well produced & acted, but just too long.

I almost did, but the second half was better than the first.

In my experience (your's may differ), I find that if the target download has "Netflix" or "NF" in it's filename then it usually contains an English soundtrack and subtitles.

Just watched it, nearly 3 hours long and almost completely incomprehensible.

Director must have been on drugs during this one.

Sounds like I'll like it then if our past evaluations of videos are indicative. 8.2 imdb with 130k raters...

One of the better movies this year.

Well I just watched Michael Caine in Get Carter.  I hear that was quite a popular mob related film to Brits in the 70s

I started watching it and was a little interested but then my interest waned and although I was tempted to turn it off few times however I waited, but I eventually capitulated and deleted it about the time the monster/creature moved in with the old blind fella with the beard, because it had become a bit tedious by then.

There was a remake made in 2000 based in America and starring Sylvester Stallone. Not a patch on the 1970's original which was a superb film.

Started watching this:

Reckless (2025 , 4 part mini series )

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt37376067/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

About 5 mins in realised I had either seen this before or something very similar.

A little bit of research tells me it is a remake of:

Guilt (2019 - 2023 ) 4 part miniseries 3 seasons.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9644058/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

So if you haven’t seen either you have the choice.

Scottish, Guilt - very good imho

or Australian, Reckless - haven’t watched.

Clare Danes 'The Beast in Me'!  Not a wasted word; nor an extraneous character; every minute riveting.

'The Stolen Girl' (set in Manchester UK) - not a copy of 'Not Her Fault'. (Excellent.)

'Malice' all episodes available.

'Trespasses'.  Set during the Irish Troubles.

As I tend to mainly watch series, this is a time of plenty for me.

Couldn’t find “ Not her fault “ should that be “ All her fault “ ?

Thanks Mike!

Be a few days before I start watching them, I've just got Godfather 2, & it's terrific.

Hardly remember anything about it, fortunately.
