The beach needs lifeguards, armed with buckets of iced water....

If only it was Songkran all year

I think sex in the sea water on the beach is the preferred alternative.

Everybody can "see" what is going on, but in reality, they don't actually see it.

It's fun.

Sunbathing? But it looks like night time from the photo.

All photos in the related news article are in the dark.

So sunbathing is completely misleading.

Again some voyeurs had a hard time to see a wiener.

The news article does not say a word about sunbathing.

Some higher being must have added that.

It's illegal to photograph or video anyone in public for the purpose of shaming them. Right?

The photo does not show much. But it does not appear they were having sex there. Intimate acts like holding her and kissing her? Thais need to stop with their nitpicking about public indecency. They are using it vaguely to insult any foreigner they can by posting it online when usually it was harmless.

Couples touch each other... Get over it. Couples kiss and are playful with each other physically... Get over it. Unless they were having sex there standing on the beach, they did nothing wrong.

Just because Thai culture thinks holding hands is an act of indecency and should not be done, does not make it so for foreigners. Making laws for certain types of behavior will only undermine the tourism as well as restricting couples showing affection.

If i want to make out with the wife or mistress there on the beach, I do not see a problem as long as it is not showing body parts and is not sex.

On the Thaiger site. It clearly states this couple was engaged in having sex there. So my post is irrelevant.

And you need to remember whose country it is.

You shouldn't travel if you cannot respect the ways of the local population.

supposedly they passed a law about this. But it appears to only apply to Thais. Posting any images or videos of foreigners without expressed consent is a free-for-all and apparently the law does not apply to them.

Most likely that law was forgotten by the police until such time someone reminds the BIB with an envelope to pursue the poster.

the enforcement efforts in tourist-heavy areas like Pattaya Beach.

Nil.  Speeding; running red-lights; drunk driving; prostitution, are all smiled on by the most inept police force in Thailand.  RTP, whilst doing nothing the rest of the year, have amassed a week's overtime payments + 321 deaths.

Which is why I always drive at night with no lights, piss at the side of the road and  chuck my rubbish off the back of my motorbike and then dont pay any tax, I love the local "ways"

That would cause problems for all the missionaries who want to bring the "word of god" to benighted pagan communities.  Surely it would be wrong to deprive the natives of the chance of eternal salvation.

Not in Pattaya waters.

It would be like making love in a sewer.

And illegal to post pornographic images online. "Book 'em Danno!"

Observers on the beach were taken aback, with many expressing shock and disbelief at the public display.

Why?

Normal behaviour - Pattaya is THE hub for sex tourists, sex perverts and sex-pats!

Indeed, when in Rome etc.

However you seem to have digressed from what was said.

"Thais need to stop with their nitpicking about public indecency."
