Last renewal they said I had to return in 90 days to prove my 800K

That's a Jomitien game (assume that's your io)

Some people actually believe it's a requirement and return with bank book. Funny really.

One word of warning, since seems you intend not to comply with financials after obtaining extension.....

If you have business with immigration they can request to see bank book.

Happened to me earlier this year transferring stamps to new passport at CW.

While not a requirement io made me produce my bankbook to check compliance.

Was a miracle I had it with me.

Furthermore made me go to bank and update.

Ridiculous.

If you need an agent to put up the funds, it will surely cost you more than the interest lost on having the money in the bank on your own.

Hi guys,

I am getting yearly retirement extensions since 2018 and all this time I have parked 1 million baht in my bank account that is just staying there untouched and not generating any income.

Somebody suggested in a forum to use an agent to free up that money, but I never used one. A friend though, that he had no sufficient funds in the bank, went today to a reputable agent and he was asked to give them his phone with the banking app and the password for that. He was also told that he has to go to his bank and increase his bank transfer limit to 1 million baht. My question is how exactly do they go about to solve the problem of insufficient funds ? If they deposit money on your behalf how do they get it back and when ? How safe is that ? I mean I would certainly not give accesss to anyone to use my phone with my banking apps. Please tell me your experience

You are escorted into a bank that the agency uses, puts the 800k into your acc, and a picture is taken and it’s taken out straight away! Nothing to to with any banking app!
simple, efficient, and all make a little of the system that has been going on for decades

An agent can obtain extension based on retirement and cover the financial requirements.

Be aware that to return to doing it yourself you need to start over.

Easy from Udon Thani as you can border bounce and reenter visa exempt then obtain non O based on marriage (start over)

OR continue with agent

If you don't come up with an agent just chat with one of bars

Exactly. Not Pattaya.

The guy you quoted was replying/posting to matters particular to Pattaya agents.

They use BBL.

Then provide no useful information re agent that you used your SCB account.

You are in  Bangkok and some agents there can use your non BBL bank account.

Im not in Bangkok
PLUS
just cause ur in Pattaya does not mean u need use an agent in Pattaya
even thou they are cheaper ( unless they make u open a bangkok bank account)

you may find this hard to believe, but your experience may not be definitive.

For 5 years now, I have never set foot in a bank.  Agent transferred to me using the app sent a guy to the bank across the street to get the paperwork, (I signed the forms to authorise printing the statement) and when he returned I transferred the 800k back with his fee.
