Friends, family, and co-workers are rallying behind a Northern Irishman left fighting for his life following a shocking accident while on a dream holiday in Thailand.

 

Ryan Daly, from Portadown, had set off on an ambitious round-the-world trip when tragedy struck, leaving him on life support and his loved ones in turmoil.

The 27 year old care attendant, known for his dedication and compassion while working with J & K Coaches’ ambulance department in Moneymore, now finds himself in dire need of care, prompting his employer to launch a heartwarming fundraiser yesterday, January 15.

 

Already, generous well-wishers have contributed nearly £8,000 (338,00 baht) to support his family during this unimaginable ordeal, said a company spokesperson.

“Tragically, Ryan was involved in a devastating accident this week and is now on life support in Thailand.”

His heartbroken mother, Julie, and sister, Lucy, have journeyed to be by his side after receiving the traumatic news of his critical condition, although the details of Daly’s accident have yet to be revealed by Thai officials.

 

In a heartfelt plea to the community, the spokesperson added, “In response, we have created this fundraising page to offer support to Julie and Lucy, and we’re reaching out to you, our community, followers, and clients, to help us provide the assistance they need.”

Daly, whose kindness and unwavering commitment to helping others have left a lasting impact, now needs the community’s support more than ever, said the company spokesperson.

News of Daly’s misfortune comes hot on the heels of another young Irishman, whose body was discovered lifeless on a Thai island.

 

The body of Robert “Robby” Kinlan was found on January 9 in Koh Tao, ominously dubbed “Death Island” due to a chilling pattern of tourist fatalities.

Initial post-mortem examinations have pointed towards acute pulmonary cardiac failure as the cause of his untimely demise, but as investigations continue, the mystery surrounding his death only deepens as no information has been revealed to why his heart failed.

After all the "accidents" on Koh Tao over the years I wonder why someone bother to risk going there ever! There are of course accidents everywhere in Thailand, but there are just so many "strange" ones on such a little place!🙄

I am suprised,!  Thais have not tried to use "go fund me" as a scam,!!  sob story few pic's ect,  money come rolling in !!!

Where does it say his accident happened on Koh Tao?

The information is a bit vague, no details o what happened, Even the NI news outlets dont give anything away,

No, they happen on Tao, the same as everywhere, its just some seem to think that its impossible for accidents to happen on Tao and everyone is angelic and on their best behaviour.

Perhaps they don't know. Do you think the NI outlets have reporters in Thailand?

The family chooses to not say. Why should they? They have stated that his injuries are 'fatal'.

Need to stop renting motorbikes with more than 50CC to foreigners without a big bike license. Insurances won't pay. Is absolute nonsense that Thailand has not addressed this issue since decade plus.

 

Like if you get the temporary International permit it might avoid you getting fined but insurance legal wise you are still driving a bike you do not have a license for hence they do not need to pay out.

 

You would need a Thai license. I don't get why it is so hard to implement this speed limiting technology that they also use in Europe for this, it's not as if the existing bikes become useless as far I know. Just gonna be a issue with the mountains lol.

 

In the current landscape of things it is just a setup for young people. When i first came here I was also told it was enough to have the International paper, I was lied to for years before knowing better.

This one is a medical incident not an accident…

 

mental or behavioral actions were wrongly made to a cause an accident as it could be you or someone else leading to one’s injuries/fatalities

Those quotes refer to two different Irishmen. Ryan who is on life support and the other guy who was found dead in Koh Tao

Oh you missed soething alright, you're mixing up twp different deaths.

 

What I iwant to know is - whas a Thai national responsible for this 'tragic accident' or whatever it was and why they are not being made to pay?

Always the foreigner being made to pay large amounts of money - and this guy has already been diagnosed as having suffered a 'fatal' incident - so he's dead but on machines.
