  • No outrage among Thai residents.  I've lived here 20 years and see Thais urinating on the verge of (busy) roads every single day.

  • What do you expect.....where are the public toilets?

  • There are public toilets in India. Thailand is very happy to receive tourists, but fails to reinvest in tourist infrastructure. And if you have to go, you have to go.

And yet in 15+ years in Thailand I’ve never needed to piss/<deleted> in the streets but I see certain demographics do this quite regularly. Why is that you reckon?

Out for a walk this morning in BK & passed a taxi driver who thankfully was just zipping up. He smiled at me, but luckily didn't go for a high-five. It's not pleasant for females.

"It's not pleasant for females. "   What, Hi 5ing ?

Indeed. And not just at the side of busy roads. One of these days I am going to film one of them …..and probably get my brains bashed in for doing so 🤣

Suggestions include installing additional signage in multiple languages to inform visitors of local customs

One of the oldest local customs is peeing on the beach.

It’s the usual thing. Outrage over the symptoms instead of the cause.

offer sleezy sex services in tourist areas, get sleezy tourists. Don’t provide public toilets, get people pissing in the streets (or in queues at immigration at swampy).

one of these days maybe Thais will be outraged that their police don’t enforce prostitution laws or the government provide public toilets.

sort out the causes of bad behavior and maybe it will stop.

No, seeing a guy relieving himself in the street.

Good point…..apart from way out in the countryside…..I have never had to relieve myself in a built up area…..there is no excuse for it.

In the UK you can go on the sex offenders register if caught in a public place.

why fed up?  why the outrage?  why the bunched up panties? last time i checked (admittedly a long time ago), that sea there was an open sewer.   these guys were just saving pattaya the cost of transporting the human waste.

it literally is just a drop in the ocean.

As for thai being offended, I can barely leave the house without spotting some taxi driver pissing in the street.

We had to put in a sensor light and a camera to stop them pissing against our front wall on a busy lower Sukhumvit soi

Very considerate of you installing a light so the taxi drivers could actually see where they are urinating

Where are all the other people supposedly in 'clear view' of the incident and supposedly 'outraged'?  I only see the Indian group.  For the record, this Pattaya resident is holding his outrage for something a little more outrageous.

I always thought this was any architectural feature designed to prevent rising damp or to strengthen walls…..

They are so used to and have learned to enjoy life among their own excrement and want to spread their <deleted>ty culture to other holiday destinations around the world as well. They could keep this urine and excrement culture in their own country.

And this, people, is why I sit down to pee. A little discretion and all is good. No one is the wiser.

All this Asian Now outrage against tourist.

Where do all the Thai ladies and men urinate when partying every night on the beach.

Answer: On the beach.

Far outnumbered the occasional tourist

There are no public facilities.

Doesn't most of the "P" from Pattaya and Phuket end up in the sea anyway?

where 5-6 men urinated into the sea in clear view of numerous other tourists.

Well I never - that was really taking the piss!

Is this why they started slapping Indian tourists on the back of the head?

...well he wouldn't have got his tossle jammed in the zip would he!

This is normal in India.....men pissing and women squatting openly in the streets.

Unfortunately, this is now quite common on the downtown streets of my hometown San Francisco.

Yikes…..roll on J21 when that will all be sorted.

think yourselves lucky they are not pooping, as is normal in their crap hole of a country.

You know what the news is—now you’re going to hear... the rest of the story."

Five high class Indian tourists were in Pattaya. After a day of walking around in the sun, being hot and thirsty they stopped at Moishe's Take Away to buy a bottle of water to share.

Moishe, not happy to be disturbed from his nap, gets them 5 waters. The Indians say "only one bottle but can we have 5 straws?"

Moishe, a bit miffed, sells them one bottle and gives them 5 straws.

On their way out, the Indians, having noticed there is no where to relieve themselves, ask an irritated Moishe where they can urinate.

Moishe says, "Gey pishn in yam!*"

And now you know the rest of the story.

* Go pee in the ocean

A friend of mine was living in Bkk and the condo had a pool. An Indian lady with her toddler son walked right past the condo bathrooms and led her son to the edge of the pool so he could pee in the pool. Plenty of people around but she obviously didn't think there was anything wrong with it.

Pattaya is a disgusting place; pi$$ing in the sea is hardly the worst that happens there.
