A drunk Thai woman crashed her pickup into 11 parked vehicles on Pattaya Sai Sam Road in the early hours of this morning. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.

Officers from Mueang Pattaya Police Station were alerted to the incident at 3.20am today, January 31, and rushed to the scene. They encountered a sedan with a damaged rear bumper, 10 overturned motorcycles, and a damaged pickup, which had come to a stop 500 metres away from the other vehicles.

The sedan driver told police that he parked his car in the left lane of the road to buy items from a roadside shop. While he was making his purchase, he heard the crash and rushed to the scene, only to find that his car and several motorcycles were damaged.

CCTV footage showed the pickup being driven at very high speed before veering off and colliding with the parked vehicles. The driver did not stop after the crash, but the front wheels were damaged, preventing the vehicle from continuing its journey.

The pickup truck driver was identified as 34 year old Chalisa, reportedly an employee at a finance company in Pattaya. Chalisa was heavily intoxicated, reeking of alcohol, and unable to communicate with the police.

Officers conducted an alcohol test on Chalisa and found she had over 100 milligrammes per cent of alcohol in her system.

Another recent car accident was reported in Pattaya on January 29, when a foreign motorcyclist hit a Russian couple on Jomtien Sai Song Road.

The Russian man was killed in the incident, while the motorcyclist and the Russian woman sustained serious injuries.

A Thai man who witnessed the accident reported that he stopped his car to allow the Russian couple to cross the road but the speeding foreign motorcyclist failed to do so and crashed into them directly.

She's going to have more than a hangover later...

Regarding the motorbike accident I'm not sure if it was on a crossing but when I stop to let people cross I'm nervous as hell because pedestrians still have to watch out for other traffic from all sides and directions irrelevant wether it's one way or not

I doubt ANY officers are 'alert' at this time.  I once roamed the main Pattaya police station at 1am looking to get my car unclamped.  It took 15 minutes of door knocking and shouting before a dazed looking officer came to attend to my needs.

Sounds like my ex-wife...except for being Thai and driving a pick-up.

And i bet she is still a better driver than my missus.

Though she's probably in a bunch of trouble, I'll bet she's really glad she wasn't on a scooter.

She'd probably be a gone pecan if she'd performed that stunt on a scooter.

That's like 3 times the UK limit? I think I would have been dead before I hit the motorbikes!
I am surprised motorbikes don't get knocked over like Dominoes like this more often with general parking strategies especially in the resorts

If you refer to the annoying "in other news" then refer to it explicitly.

The headline is about a 34 yr old Thai woman.

When I hear about these kind of incidents I wonder if it's just a stunning level of arrogance that prevents people from stopping or slowing down for pedestrians, a total level of indifference for the safety of others, or just a person who's more or less asleep at the wheel and just not paying attention.

Yes, I know what you mean. Crossing second or 3rd Rd gives an impression of being targeted rather than accommodated when crossing. ,
