Retirement extension
Among the 50+ pages of documents I submitted to the IO one of them was our marriage certificate that he noted and kept. My bank provided the 12 monthly deposit/transfers from abroad but only 100k baht in my Kbank account.I'll just repeat this again next year. Its a good feeling to get away from the agent dependency though. But I must say the agents I used were very fair and proffesional. -

Pipe Bomb Attack in Yala Injures Several
Picture captured from CCTV. A pipe bomb attack rocked central Yala on the evening of 5 March, injuring several and prompting an urgent security response. The attack, which took place in the Siro-Rot Road area of Yala Municipality, was reportedly carried out by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle. At approximately 19:15 attackers threw two pipe bombs near a police checkpoint at the railway intersection. The first device exploded, causing injuries to at least two people and damaging a passing lorry. The second device failed to detonate and was later discovered in the middle of the road. Emergency responders from rescue teams Maetubtim Yala and Maekor Nia Yala provided immediate medical assistance before transferring the injured to Yala Hospital. Police and bomb disposal units swiftly cordoned off the area to prevent further casualties and launched an investigation into the attack. The motive remains under scrutiny, though authorities suspect it may be the work of insurgents seeking to demonstrate their operational capabilities. Yala Provincial Police Chief, Pol Maj Gen Nathakorn Kanchanaporn, has since ordered heightened security measures across the province. All checkpoints and operational bases have been instructed to increase vigilance, particularly in patrol operations, to ensure a rapid response to potential threats. Authorities continue to gather evidence at the scene, with forensic teams and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit working to examine the unexploded device. The attack underscores the persistent security challenges in Thailand’s southern border provinces, where violent incidents linked to separatist movements have been ongoing for decades. Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as investigations continue. -- 2025-03-06 -
