Best Place to Buy a Used MB in Pattaya Area

Featured Replies

I am looking for a late-model used motorbike for my daughter, 160cc or less. There used to be a good shop on Pattaya Tai next to the Mityon repair shop, but it is closed now. Any recommendations for a shop with a good selection and reasonable prices would be very much appreciated. If you have something in good condition that you want to sell at a reasonable price for a quick cash sale, please let me know (PM me). Thanks a lot, TL

FB Marketplace should have some with low prices.  Probably by my first source for MB shopping

Just in general, what about motorcycles where people are not able to pay the monthly leasing/finance anymore?

I guess those will be returned and sold again. And probably for a much better price than new.

I don't know if they would be on sale in the bike shops or the finance company or who handles this.

Pj's trading on the dark side. Lots of the dealings with the lady who runs it. She buys at repo auctions and resells. Apparently she has sold out to a falang so be extra careful.

A Thai man with excellent English language has a Second hand Motorbike sales shop  on  Third Road  very close to the Pattaya Klang Junction, I have bought many Bikes from him over several Years ...

Travelling down Klang towards the Beach   from Sukhumvit rd.   turn Left  onto Third Rd, his shop is  a few meters past the very first 7/11  on the left hand side,   u can see many bikes out the front, his shop is easily  missed

Thanks. 90% of the cars and bikes on FB market place are fake. I'll look again, but it appears to me to be a waste of time. Baht/Sold seems to be a better source that FB, and they have nothing reasonably priced.

Thanks. I would love to get contact/access information for the car and motorbike repo auctions.

How many did you contact ?

Just peeked and changed my marketplace location to Patts (20 kms) and more than a few to choose from.

Since for your daughter, have you considered electric, no maintenance worries.  Also can buy new, as Deco make has a few models, with 1000w motors, LFP battery, starting price ฿28,640 - ฿30,640

Would definitely be my choice.  Take a peek outside the box, may surprise you.

AMA motorbikes on Soi Buakhao. Used to be Jack motorbikes. Rentals and sales, new and second hand. I've used them for over 10 years. Bought my latest bike there. All paperwork etc taken care of and in order. Family run business. Nice people.

Agree, this guy is very friendly, speaks good English, has many bikes to choose from, mechanics on hand if after sales service required.

Yes.

It's an auction.

The price must seem good to the successful bidder.

Yes, that's right, Jack's brother King took over. And their old mum is still around, and the wives who are extremely proficient in English and at sorting out paperwork, service history etc etc. There used to be a little hut across the road which was the office for hiring bikes. Cheap as chips during COVID. 1200 pm.

I went to the auction on Thepasit which was once a month (I think) back in about 2010 when I was in the market for a motorbike.  I wasn't allowed to bid because being a foreigner I needed a residence certificate and some other paperwork that I didn't understand (mostly all Thai speakers there).  Lots of bikes cheap as I listened to the bidding before I left.  If you decide to go to an auction do some research as to what documentation is required to be allowed to bid.  I'm not a motorbike expert and not so good a judging the quality of used motorbikes so I gave up and simply bought new at Miyon.

Do you want a really good deal and they’re all over the country go to bathsold webpage putting in your area and what type of bike you’re looking for I guarantee you’ll find it there TIT

Bought a used Aerox from AMA last year to use in Pak Chong. Great Service, fair price, took care of paperwork, arranged a transporter, great communication.

I am looking for a SH bike but it's odd that with so many bikes around there are very few places that sell SH bikes. The only one i know is AMA Trading on Soi Buakhao but they only have a dozen or so in stock, mostly PCXs and Xmaxs. Facebook Marketplace is the only alternative but then you take a big risk that it might be a con or the bike is miles away and can not easily be inspected, or picked up.

Well, for us there is usually 2 options, dealer or FB marketplace. I think auction is too complicated unless you have a Thai assistant - that still may need he or she to register and buy it...!

Dealers usually 10% to 20% more expensive, but at least there is a shop to go back to. Normally they don't mess around with dodgy bike and paperwork, at least you sure it's not a con in that way, though I know they play with the mileage sometimes..., lower it.

FB is not that bad, of course need to make sure you know about the model you are after, do a bit of research. Never pay in advance for anything, let someone else check the paperwork, only pay once at DLT after they checked and accepted the green book etc., dealing with foreigners always easier of course...! Many people buy this way...
