Genuine Question - Medicare & Medicaid Overseas

I was under the impression that both were not available outside the US and territories. How could this happen? Id MTG just fantasising again ( I'm not a fan of hers to say the least ).

There is a loophole used by people who maintain.a US address for emergency Medicare services under Medicare Advantage via private insurance companies based on your US zip code. Its particularly popular in Mexico and Panama. It is legitimate for sunburds but in my opinion only it is fraud for real expats. 

 

To add many expats use Medicare services during visits in the US  100 percent legal.

 

I doubt the Medicare Advantage possibly fraud reached the dollar levels from that press conference.

 

I also doubt Musks big ball boys understand anything about these matters

But these are benefits going to providers outside the country. Enrollees aren't the ones who get paid. So what I'm wondering is if this is money going to subcontracted outsourced labor, such as foreign diagnosticians who read x-rays and other tests in places such as India and then send it back to US hospitals.

I was only speaking of the Medicare Advantage loophole which may or may not be fraud. it's kind of a grey area actually considering it is totally OK for sunbirds. It's only for emergencies and of course the non-US providers are getting paid for the services. If there are kinds of definite fraud going on that I am not aware, of course that bears investigation and action. But Musk's DOGE gambit is illegal and unconstitutional. There are legal and constitutional ways to address such matters.

A coalition of over a dozen state attorneys general filed a lawsuit in Federal court on Feb. 13 against President Trump, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and its leader Elon Musk, accusing them of “unlawful exercise of power” in taking recent actions to invade Federal agencies, access their tech systems, and curtail their operations.

The suit argues that those actions by DOGE and Musk are unconstitutional because President Trump has granted Musk “virtually unchecked authority” without first obtaining the necessary legal authorization from Congress, and without conducting proper oversight of his activities.

 

The states pointed to the Appointments Clause in the Constitution, which they said strengthens the separation of powers by requiring Congress to create an office before the President can appoint someone to head it, and by giving the Senate the right to confirm any nominee to run it. They safeguards, they argued, were violated by the power granted to Musk and his DOGE team by President Trump.
