looks like maybe a lot of the old vang vien crowd has moved to pai....vang vien was over the top out of control few years back but apparently the laos govt put an end to most of the river song bars  and float trips etc as too many overdoses and injuries and bad press etc....vang vien is a beautiful spot and probably even better now without hoards of drunk drugged up idiots roaming the area.

Someone that went on one of these tours years (20) ago said these tours were very popular and a ready supply of substance was available to smoke through nice pipes.

Brian from Ireland was breaking the law by employing foreigners

What should happen to Brian from Ireland ?

Is that a question? What do authorities do in your home country with law breakers??? 😕

In the UK they give them a hotel to live in and weekly spending money, while they process their application for citizenship.

I don't think so. You got a proof or link?🤗

How is that relevant to the thread ?

I was wondering how you think that Brian from Ireland should be treated for breaking the law in Thailand  ?

Deport him along with the Israelis ?

In the US if you litter, you're fined. If you cause a disturbance, you're fined if it doesn't stop and possibly arrested if you're drunk and disorderly. You don't get away with littering like they do here. Burning either. Trouble here in many villages is there isn't a garbage pickup so they throw everything into the nearest woods and or burn it. That's on the government.

It's a matter of immigration and current law.

If I would him I would ask beforehand I run a business or employing people.

If deporting is the ultimate rule...face it.

But still your question is silly.

Do you mean all Jews or all Israelis  ?

Well, you know how it it is here. When you come here accept it even it's hard to beat sometimes.

You lose your life balance if you look for all that which needs improvement 🤗

What has a silly question to do with nationality 🤣(I'm a Limerick man).

Did I talk about"all Jews or all Israelis?"

Please check again what you want to say, if any. Please. It's too confused and unstructured

Look at these despicable tourists standing around in their bathing suits! Terrible. (Pay no attention to the local business clearly hosting them for a foam party)

Yes, I am. Means that I am not following the trend, to look down on Thai that seems to be the par on this forum.

Well, it's got nothing to do with looking down on Thais at all, there are facts which will remain even if you choose to ignore them. Open your eyes and have a good look around!

Selective biased traffic enforcement (Aka harassment) of farang on motorbikes while giving all Thai riders a free pass.

You don't hang out in traffic here too much, do you? From what I see, the majority who's being pulled over by the police is still mostly Thai. Instead of your whataboutism, how about just wearing a helmet so there's no reason to be pulled over.

being naked is only allowed for Thais.... look around what some people wear on the streets.. It seems they are on the beach.. so called being sexy, but they don't know the difference between sexy and looking for money.. But as a foreigner take out his shirt it is a shame. Thais swim with their clothes on.. foreigners take them off.. I would know how the would respond if there were beaches for nudists here

Kind of looks like Vang Vieng in Lao.  The gov't there had enough of the teenage wasteland thing and cleaned it up.  Looks like MHS is the new place to be.  I gotta wonder how much the BiB squeezes from these kids.

Me too

Set up large pictures at key places, like the airport and bus station, of a Thai prison cell with 50 half naked, sweaty,  prisoners lying on the floor with a caption informing, "Our prisons aren't like your prisons. Don't break the law."

Outside the blue cities in the USA, you dont see litter everywhere.  We clean. And toss an empty can out the window when riding past that Trooper to see how things work.

Last time I was in Frankfurt it was looking a bit like Thailand though.

Cambodia is a pig sty when it comes to litter.

Yankee go home 🤣

“Perhaps a dedicated task force comprising tourist police and related authorities could manage the swell in tourist numbers," suggested Mr. Chaivit”

Or, perhaps the police could consistently enforce Thailands laws on a day in, day out basis?

Agreed but good luck with that.

Reading all the comments one thing is apparent in that the authors compare the visitors to the Thais. True many Thais little but you have to remember it is their country. If the system allows them to get more easily away with littering so be it but that does not excuse the visitors to the country. We all need to respect the countries we visit and do as we feel because it is a foreign country.

Which is happening just off to the right side of the picture.
