The current POTUS knows nothing about history, and either is unaware of how psychopaths behave (he is likely on the spectrum himself) or simply does not care. Certainly he is incapable of empathy, which is one hallmark of a psychopath, and he also lies as easily as he breathes, which is another. It doesn't take a deeply analytical mind to know what Putin's intent is...rebuild the Soviet Empire, as flawed and failing as it was. The Europeans know, which is why they are likely to continue supporting Ukraine. It's nice integrity exists somewhere, as it's long gone in the USA.

 

POTUS wants to split the world into 3 spheres of influence...Russia in Europe, China in Asia, and Canada/Mexico in the Americas (of course he thinks the US, but the US is now in decline). So ignorant is POTUS, he fails to see that the alliance he is now destroying---NATO---was responsible not only for the security the US has enjoyed for the last 80 years, but also its economic prosperity. That is all in jeopardy now.

 

Enjoying the clown show is Xi. He knows he can now take Taiwan anytime he wants, and also continue to ringfence India by additionally owning Myanmar and Pakistan. The Gwadar airport noted in another thread is just part of that, like the 14,000 foot runway China had built at Myanmar's new Mandalay airport, capable of handling China's largest military aircraft fully loaded, and way more than Myanmar's ATR 42s required. Perhaps by the end of 2025, China will have taken Taiwan, and POTUS will support that aggression, despite the commies not ruling Taiwan for a single second in history.
