You claim Ukraine is winning. 13% inflation, 14.5% interest rates. Biden gave away billions for nothing. Trump wants the money back. Trump is the only smart one.

It does not matter.  Europe is a dying continent.

Stupid, incredibly short-sighted, egotistical reasoning on the part of Trump. Obviously, doesn't know his WWII history (i.e. parallels between England and France appeasing Hitler by allowing annexation of Czechoslovakia are striking). A free England was used as staging area for D-Day invasion of continental Europe. Brexit, in that it has weakened European Union solidarity and coordination, appears to have been a geopolitical mistake by the West. Trump's belief that Putin wouldn't break commitments he made to Trump (despite being confronted with countless examples of Putin breaking previous commitments) reveals narcissistic delusions of grandeur on a scale probably not seen since Napoleon. Difficult to not come to the conclusion that Trump is a Russian asset. The "reporter" (Marjorie Taylor Greene's husband) asking Zelenskyy why he hadn't worn a suit to the Oval Office was appalling, but Zelenskyy's response "I'll wear a suit when the war is over" was the perfect rejoinder. Trump and Vance revealed themselves to be soulless swines. I, as an American, am calling for a general strike and boycott of all things American until they are removed from office.

Maybe Europe can step up and deal with Russia.

Putin does what i believe, is best for his country. European leaders are the losers

Putin isn't letting his country get ruled over the US unlike all the nation in NATO, they jump when the us says so because they have weak self serving leaders.

They should take a leaf out of Putins book on how to be a string world leader, not weak pussy.

The UK is falling apart, living costs through the roof, illegal immigrants costing million a day to house, billions in debt but wants to send billions in aid to another country to prolong a war that will never be won rather than negotiate peace. Total clown show.

Its already started "US fuel supplier cuts ties with American military in VERY strongly worded statement about Trump's Oval Office bust-up with Zelensky" adding "No Fuel to Americans!', concluding their statement with the slogan 'Slava Ukraina' in support of Ukraine.  It referred to the televised event as the 'biggest s***show ever presented live on TV' and said 'it made us sick', according to the UK defence journal.

If you were to properly examine the amount European nations spend on defence equipment that they buy from the USA, you might reevaluate just how much of a "free ride" they are getting.  While the USA does spend more as a %age of GDP, very, very little procurement spend is outside the USA.  Similarly, Trump's touted $350B of aid to Ukraine is also totally misleading as much of that was spent buying equipment and munitions from USA Companies thus staying within the US economy and, with corporate and personal taxes, a significant sum will have flowed back into the US Treasury.  Sure there is a net cost - just nowhere near £350B.  Add to that, some of the European aid given to Ukraine will have been spent on buying US munitions.

Mutual defence and alliance is not a zero sum game; the benefits far outweigh the costs.  Just because this conflict is In  Eurpe does not mean that the USA is immune from any fallout.

When your friends come asking for help, blackmailing them to give you half their assets in return for that help is below sickeing.

It would appear that that is the case, but I think that the entire world is heading for a divorce with the US. Trump is doing his level best to alienate every ally that we have, and all that's going to be left is Russia, China and North Korea. They seem to be his best friends anyway, even though he does moan a lot about China, he's likely in bed with Xi, just as much as he's in bed with Putin.

It's a shame, as it's an 80-year alliance and it's a very necessary alliance. Europe as a whole is still quite powerful and quite dynamic and we need them. Especially as the creep cozys up to Putin.

I understand both sides of the argument - trump is sick of sending money to Ukraine for nothing in return, whilst Europe need to do all they can to protect themselves from a mad dictator just a stones throw away..

They can't be that worried, not if they keep sending cash and wunder waffles to the little mad dictator of kiev!

Let the Euros take care of themselves using their own funds and defense.

If funding the deficit by buying Treasuries is (self-deleted) on America, that is a fetish Americans should be happy to have.

The nonsense about countries in NATO paying 'their fair share" was always silly. So much of the US defense budget is composed of wasteful spending and cost overruns, we're criticizing NATO members for being more responsible. Also, it's probably fair to factor in US Treasury purchases by NATO members, as that is what allows the US to overspend on defense.

And let the US fund its own massive budget deficits, such as what goes into the $900 billion defense budget. The Euros can declare a moratorium on buying US treasuries.

Defense against what exactly?

Russia and China want to trade.  Why would they threaten their bestest customers?  The only recent attack on Europe was Biden's destruction of Nordstream.

As for defense, there's only the endless waves of economic migrants flowing up from the middle east and africa to defend against.

If NATO would stop meddling in brown/black countries and regime-changing stable governments and destroying economies and infrastructure, most of those illegal immigrants would happily remain in their homelands.

Trump is doing great. These others need the US market to buy their goods.
