The French are going to be pissed  !

Actually, most French folks drink rather responsibly. And mostly always with a meal.

Seems the dementia is setting in fast. You should have either taken better care of yourself, or chosen a better gene pool.

It wasn't too long ago the State of NY found 34 instances of cheating. For fun, try Googling "34 felony convictions", and guess what name might pop up.

Oh, and in the past he was convicted of a cheating scam regarding an eponymous "university".

Then there's his fake "charity", where he was convicted and fined for fraud.

Absent court verdicts against him, you will find more than a hundred instances where subcontractors accused him of cheating on payments, but they did not have a rich daddy to fund their legal fees.

On a personal level, you will find lots of folks who discuss his golf game, and his lack of adherence to the rules, which is revealing of his lack of character.

You might also ask his wives about his serial philandering, though he wasn't "convicted", of course. When Stormy spoke of 'mushrooms', you can be damn sure his current (former softcore porn model) wife knew he cheated.

Bang on topic as ever. Brilliant.

This is just another way that Trump could damage the American economy. Liquor imports into the US generate billions of dollars in retail sales within the US.

The man is blazing idiot and an absolute disaster.

Sounds like a tax on the rich.  You all love higher taxes on the rich.

They will be able to afford it with the massive tax cuts they are going to get ,

at the expense of the middle class and poor Americans, plus a high hike in

the deficit , got to make the Billionaires richer again

How much of a moron does one have to be to think people are going to quit drinking if they can’t get their favorite imported booze?

There was a certain Thai PM not long ago who I noticed only appointed people who were stupider than him.  The full-display moment was when he was in exile and the street demonstrations were going on, he sent three minions to deal with the other side who were much like a redshirt version of the US's Three Stooges.  The difference here is that former PM was actually a successful and knowledgeable business man.

It isn't easy for this guy in the US to find someone dumber than himself.  It has been reported that when King Charles requested an audience with his nibs one of his staff said "He probably wants to discuss Canada" to which another staffer said "what does the king have to do with Canada?"

So it’s your position that Trump is smarter than Musk?

Sure, that will guarantee that there will be no champagne available for his buddies, because imports will come to a halt. What they gonna drink, sparkling apple cider?

Only someone with the mindset of a 10 year old would post a picture to make his point.

The picture is fake, like most of Trump's so-called achievements in golf.

Trump is  teetotal.

The name whiskey is used mostly by the US. It is bought by all classes of people around the world. It is not expensive although some brands are priced more than others due to name and quality. France does make whiskey since the 1980s. But their quality lacks experience compared to the US who has been making it for hundreds of years.

For the French, impsoning a 50% tariff on whisky will make sales drop there significantly. Simply because of the cost.

Whereas Trumps 200% tariff will drop sales of the champagne. Due to the significance of the amount of sales and the selling prices of both. The 200% tariff makes sense.

The 50% tariff will not hurt the average household as most would not buy a French champagne anyway due to the cost.

The 200% tariff on whiskey may affect those lower class and middle class in France though.

I think the idea of it makes sense.

The point of it all is that these tariffs have been in effect for some time already in the form of taxes and with an unfair balance. Trump is trying to even the scales of import and export costs. It has been very one-sided with the US on the lower part of the scales.

The Scots make whisky. The Irish make whiskey. America makes bourbon.

Scotch whisky is made from malted barley. Bourbon is made from corn mash.

I think the Scots make Scotch Whiskey, the Irish make Irish Whiskey and Americans make  Bourbon (corn) whiskey, Rye whiskey, sour-mash whiskey, wheat whiskey and single-malt.
