The younger generation are doing just fine at destroying society with their pathetic social media BS, lemming like need to behave like everyone else, and their stupid fads like multiple genders and wokeness.

I can't really blame the Mils, Gen Zers and whatever the hell the generation after them is called. They are only acting out their programming.

No, this is rather the great work of the Elites, the masterstroke of the Illumined Ones, the culture creators and social engineers.

You'll find them working at the big 3-letter organisations and various think tanks.

Genius, really.

Thank you for also selling out my generation and future. We really appreciate it.

  • Yes, why not pat yourselves on the back! You guys are in total deniaL. The golden age was the generation before yours btw, a people that had balls and scruples. The boomer generation must be the most

  • Vietnam war ended in 1975, age of conscription started at 18 .... so boomers were involved in the war.

Not even that, I bought my first home in Melba (ACT) in 1984 for 1 year combined gross income.

Very much doubt one could do that in any major Australian city these days. (even Perth hahahaha)

In Canada, Toronto and Vancouver let's say the avg. income to house price ratio is near 1 to 30.

WTF

So the protesters did not really care about the  war, they just did not want to go.

I think it was both, actually. We supported self-determination for Vietnam, did not believe in the domino theory. Nobody wanted to go--war is a terrible thing. Many of my friends went to prison, I was just lucky to get A Carter pardon.

I was lucky to be born in 1955.  😃

The Democrats only care about the military when they campaign on it.

They’re all about since they took over the Pentagon and the defense industry.

Your Generation Lay-Z is the most selfish, incompetent, uneducated and Tik-tok watching worthlessness syndrome, ever to have existed on this planet.

You sold out your own future with your unearned arrogance, selfishness and work-shy practices.

Reap what you sow!

Thank goodness I'm not gen z then eh. You sound so stereotypical it's laughable.

I don't own any tik toks. I dont have Instagram or Facebook or any of that garbage.

Maybe read another one of my comments where I said I've worked just as hard as your generation my whole life.

Or go take a nap you sound grumpy.

Did the French not start Vietnam?

Different war. That was the IndoChina war involving Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

The American war was originally restricted to Vietnam when the North tried to take the South over.

Kennedy may have sent some advisors there, but the disaster was caused by Lyndon.

You missed entitled, greedy, hands out for benefits without contributing, woke and believing in BS and silly fads like MMCC and gender stupidity.

There's more, but the above is enough for now.

I was lucky to be born way before that, as I'll get out of this rat hole society sooner that you. It was great in the 50s and early 60s, but Vietnam ended the good times, and it's been a down spiral ever since.

But they ended the draft when I turned 18 which made me VERY lucky as a HS drop out.  Pretty sure the army would have loved me.

Yes, we boomers are lucky.  Perhaps our best luck was being the sons and daughters of the Greatest Generation.  That generation survived the Great Depression and World War II, worked hard, scrimped and saved to send their children to college, some as the first generation to go to college.  I was certainly lucky with my parents and the upbringing they provided us 6 kids.

It is amusing how so many people think things are so terrible now.

WTF.

A lot of that is more information.  In the 50s 60s even the 70s much of the problems of the world were not reported in "our world news".  So an uprising in Cambodia didn't impact us.  Murder of 1000s in Africa between tribes never made the news.  Now every world woe is front and center.  I can see why the current generations think the world is horrible.  But it isn't really new.

People living longer ans fewer people starving and or in desperate poverty than at ant time in the history of the world.

At least in the US, fewer people are working, and the people that are working, work fewer hours, and have more free time than ever.

Sixty percent of the workforce have college degrees.

Oh, you poor things! How about you go grunt out 8 hours a day on a hot factory floor for a few years and get back to up.

There seems to be great confusion as to "when the boomer generation started".

Here it is: The "boomer generation" started earlier in the US than in Europe. After the big war, the US as a country was not destroyed as opposed to Europe that lay in ashes at this time.

In the US, in a very stable environment, the circumstances to "start a family" were favorable. As opposed to Europe, where people living in their devastated countries had other problems to worry about than "reproduction" and burden themselves with offspring.

This is why the Baby Boom kicked in later in Europe than in the US.

Yeah overall I agree western boomers have been unusually lucky as far as generational timing. Who am I supposed to say thank you to?

I myself give thanks to the most powerful God of all: COINCIDENCE.

Dumb luck then.

Born into a time where we could squander without personal consequence millions of years of stored fossil fuels. So much we didn't earn. We were gifted.

Definitely "dumb-luck". The God of coincidence is neutral.  He just throws the dice.

Quality of life is **** now compared to what my parents enjoyed. Houses cost a fraction in real terms of what a house costs now, health care was far superior 30 years ago  ( the care, not medical procedures ), movies and music were far better in the 70s than the PC garbage they put out now, even tv was better.
