will you boycott tesla because you hate trump?

Featured Replies

tesla has started to make a bunch of other products besides cars.

and they're all way cheaper than existing tech ... the price of tech is going down ....

the tariffs are making all the news, but take a look at these products and the prices.

but on a more philosophical note, it's probably not the end of the world.

CNN Business reporter Allison Morrow on Thursday took stock of Musk's three recent business and political failings:

1. His $20 million losing bet on the pro-Trump candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

2.Tesla's biggest sales drop ever, falling 13% in the first quarter, while its No. 1 rival grew revenue by 60% in the same time period. Musk has lost more than a quarter of his total net worth since January as Tesla shares have slumped.

3. Rumours swirling that Trump wants to sack Musk although the White House denies it.

Morrow went on to say there was so far no sign of any business plan to regain customers.

According to her, the sales drive with Trump on the South Lawn, combined with the Commerce secretary’s appealing to Americans to buy Tesla shares, fell flat;  whilst the FBI threatening to prosecute Tesla vandals as domestic terrorists stretched the definition of terrorism beyond credibility according to legal experts.

Musk is hated more than Trump.

Latest news is that Musk may depart from DOGE

I would never buy a Tesla regardless of who POTUS is.

Or rumours being discussed about declaring US earnings by illegal immigrants to be declared illicit and open to seizure by the federal authorities, in the same manner earnings by organised crime can be seized. Individuals raising investments on the basis of misrepresenting immigration status may be open to law suits.

This is how it works in Russia. An Oligarch can be made a non-Oligarch overnight, and the key thrown away following a "trial". The World's richest man can be rendered the World's least richest man (ie the biggliest debts ever seen, mostly owed to Saudis).

In Thailand? On a Thailand forum i would expect thai availability and Thai prices. When you let us know, i can tell you whether or not I'm interested.

Musk is not only vile and odious but his stupid actions at DOGE has caused senseless worry to many federal employees.

He just leaves an unpleasant taste in the mouth, enough reason to avoid any products associated with him, or indeed with the US at present.

For example, 30 medical-related employees, including more than 10 laboratory leaders, were laid off at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) this week after a coding error mislabelled employees with incorrect position codes.

“NIH leadership has informed us that the individuals below should be contacted ASAP and told immediately return to work,” the HR email stated. Among reinstated employees are three senior scientists and staff in the Office of Research Training and Career Development, as well as people in the Office of the Scientific Director and facilities. One of the employees also included Richard Youle, who claimed a 2021 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences after showing how clearing out damaged organelles discourages Parkinson’s disease.

“I am infuriated at the inefficiency of the time wasted by staff running around having to respond to these events, heartbroken for the emotional cost for hardworking, dedicated civil servants and scientific trainees just starting their careers,” an anonymous NINDS employee told The Transmitter.

I agree that Musk is vile and odious, but I support getting rid of the drones that infest public service. The bureaucracy has been the lair of too many losers that can't do a real job for decades and it's time to give them the boot.

Up to me, sack every managerial team and put in new blood that works for the public instead of themselves.

Having been screwed over by civil servants more than once, excuse me if I rejoice when some of them are kicked out into the real world where they can't ruin my life.

not directly related to DOGE, but I had a summer job once and it was a govt place.

there was one guy who was literally sleeping at his desk all day but because these federal employees are protected, they couldnt fire him.

no, they are disrupting the market in terms of price points with their new tech.

not sure about the cars. i'm saying they're putting out a bunch of other tech.

it's no longer just a car company.

I would be doubtful if anybody active on the left of this forum actually could afford a Tesla anyway. I am personally boycotting Ferrari. The prices are unfair to us poor people.

There is nothing wrong with the Baht bus of course. It is efficient and all I need.

If I lived in USA and wanted a BEV, then it would probably have to be a Tesla, since they have a cross country charging network.  Probably the best BEV available in USA anyway.  TBH, not familiar, just know, not many, if any, brands from CN there.

Any other brand will probably need an adaptor to charge.

Really don't know what Trump would have to do with someone's purchase of any product.

Here, TH, no, as a premium price, for features I don't want or would use.  Along with plenty of competition.

Hope that smart health watch is less than 10k baht when available 😎

wish they more more comfortable and maybe a bit nicer though ... these things could use an upgrade

I boycott Tesla because IMHO,  it's not yet the right moment to switch to electric. Nothing to do with Musk, even though I can consider him to be sometimes a jerk but a smart one who is also right sometimes.

If the wokes and other liberal democrats want to play that game, why not introspect into other major US brands that were helping the despicable nazi germany, supplying the Nazis during ww2 and so on ? Many popular US brands by the way and many well known european brands also. A global soft drinks name comes to mind, a well known german car brand also and so do some high street fashion names too....

But strangely, it only against Trump or Musk these days, thanks to all the wokes and other communities LGBTQ+ who obviously do not approuve of Trump's statements. If I was a queer LGBTQ+ woke type, perhaps I would also not be so pleased with the current situation. But that's another story.

The reason I answered your post is that I am a bit disabled. I can't use steps. I have been to Pattaya many times, and most times, I used taxis,

If I wanted a Tesla I'd buy a Tesla, whether I hated Trump or not,

I only pity the sad old man, should have retired gracefully at the end of his last Presidency.
