All this bull manure being posted about Pattaya. Yes there are isolated incidence that get publicity due to increased social media that wasn't there in days gone by. If you just live your life and stay out of trouble Pattaya is a safe and enjoyable place to live. There is first class housing in the gated villages in East Pattaya. Loads of varied nightlife when you choose to visit. Restaurants are some of the best in Asia. There are beaches in Pattaya and Jomtien with many quiet beaches just outside. Water quality is questionable on Pattaya beach but other areas fine. People who put Pattaya down either havnt spent much time here or have never been. Or in  many cases are jealous because they live in a bedsit in the UK or somewhere in Nakon Nowhere in Thailand. I have lived in my house in East Pattaya on the Darkside for 13 years and never ever seen or experienced any violence like reported on the various media channels.

Has all the hallmarks of a drug/gang related feud, either he has ripped someone off, owes money, or has intruded on another gangs turf, the new breed of young " tourists " are quickly establishing drug ( cocaine in particular ) networks around Pattaya, iv seen dealing happening first hand in and around the main tourist strip, this type of thing is not unusual in parts of Europe, however it is unusual here, although it is becoming more frequent, a sign of things to come i suspect...

I think we can say the reputation of Pattaya and Phuket as a safe foreign Tourist place to come is slowly ebbing away 😱

Probably more for the many expats living there who are now hearing or reading maybe even seeing about the  problems. Drugs fighting in bars and so on 

Going on there seems to be getting more regular 😳

This is hilarious! You talk like just another cool dude, that thinks it´s classy and hot to live in Pattaya, and think nobody that post it something wrong know anything and never been there because they are isolated in a small village somewhere. Are you serious?

First, How many years have you lived in Thailand? I have over 27 by now. That, my dear, tells the story of somebody who have lived in many places. I tried Pattaya for 2,5 years. I didn´t like it. Not even 15 years ago. I also moved to Bangsaen and lived there for a little bit over 1 year. It was better, but still not ok. So, you see, I have experience.

For about 10 years now, I live out in Isaan, in a small town. However, I frequently visit all from Bangkok, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Rayong, and a lot of islands that the whole family enjoy. That, makes me know how it is today as well and how it has turned out. So, you see, no bedsit anywhere, and not really in Nakon Nowhere as you like to call it. On top of that, lived there, done that, still travel a lot.

I think it's only dangerous for people who do dangerous things.  After 17 years here, never a problem, same for long term friends.
