Better to pay some 10 M Baht than to go to jail.

10 M might be not significant for the Shinawatras

if it wasnt a typo on you part, a 10 M baht bribe could suffice for the actual 10Billion baht fine?

Didn't they store part of it like for twelve years, then (tried to sell it) cheaply to buyers in Africa in 2023?

And found significant amounts of the stockpiles had disappeared?

Well forget about her plan to come back and bribe all so she can do what Thaksin, did. She better learn a new language, especially in whatever country she is living and happy with now. Great family hey, Broken up because of their GREED, There is Karma.

The entire Thaksin family is criminal. But with enough money, you can buy them all off and keep quiet. It's always worked.

It mainly only works In Thailand. In any, if not most farlang countries,  you would end up in jail and whatever you own in assets would not allow you to buy your way out of your crime committed when convicted.

Let’s not forget it led to flooding 1/4 to 1/3 of the country when they tried to ‘save the rice harvest’.

Saved by not releasing 4 hurricanes worth of extra rainwater stored behind northern dams.

Water held back under orders from the top, until at 95-98%+ of dam capacity the water was finally released before the dams burst.

This flooded not just rice fields, but also Bangkok and down towards Pattaya. Could be seen by satellite.

You can’t payoff the ‘rice lords mafia’ for delivering your election if the rice crop is flooded out before full harvest.  Sure the farmers got some, but rice millers and storage guys got more.

As could be expected in advance, but 4 small hurricanes coming over Vietnam was not expected.

The answer is no of course, a Prime Minister should not have to pay personally for their dumb policies - they should really do a better job.

Yes that's true but everybody economists ,banks and financial people told her as PM that it would not work. She went ahead anyway.
