COVID-19 Cases in Thailand Surge to Ten Times Flu Levels

Featured Replies

I think I get what some scientists here are saying: catch COVID and stay away from school unable to study, or study from home and continue to study online.

My company has many people today who have COVID and cannot work. This is not ideal.

I feel sorry for the abused kids who missed out on 2 years on in person school.

Closing schools during Covid was, and if it is still happening today, is ridiculous.  You'd think they would have learned.

People fall one side or the other of the line of believing this nonsense and panicking. Get your umpteenth jab, wear your face nappy and please leave the rest of us alone.

COVID, unlike 'flu, leaves a permanent mark on the body. The virus appears t leave tiny microclots behind and conventional anti-clotting medications like aspirin do not remove them.   Repeated infections increase the long term likelihood of strokes, heart attacks, dementia and also ( you may be interested to know) decrease sperm production.

You may not care about things like that but I will continue to follow the scientific research ( by, you know, actual scientists , not shock jocks, weirdos and soft eugenicists)  and take precautions against reinfection.

How do they know the number of flu cases?  I have never seen an actual flu test.

Didn’t do a  Covid test but have been unwell for a good ten days sore throat very chesty terrible cough and small fever but since my Covid booster a few years back my immune system for catching the slightest infection has been terrible I tend to go down with some form of illness a good 6 times a year which i had never experienced before having said that I am 74 no longer a spring chicken !

Long Covid may be no different from other post-viral syndromes such as those experienced after flu, according to new research from Queensland Health.

The lead author of the study, the state’s chief health officer Dr John Gerrard, said it was “time to stop using terms like ‘long Covid’” because they imply there is something unique about the longer-term symptoms associated with the virus, and in some cases create hypervigilance.

You're kidding surely.

Fauci was leaving  lap tops infected with the COVID virus in pawn shops in the Northeastern states.

How do you KNOW this?

Covid is too new for any real research. And although I'm not a conspiracy theorist, the modern era of MSM and AI, there's potentially a lot of 'fabricated facts' online nowadays... and I'm not just referring to this virus.

Just recovered from it myself. Caught it in BKK.

Really bad cough, sore throat (painful to swallow), fever, shivering, aching body, bad headache, nasal congestion.

Symptoms were bad for 4 days, then moderate for 4 days. I just took Tylenol and cough mixture, plus a nasal inhaler.

Same here. It was brought into the house by a little girl who visited a few times after attending school for the day. The wife and I rarely go anywhere. I live 30 minutes outside of Pattaya. My Covid was easily as bad as the worst bout of flu I've ever had and the symptoms were more or less identical.

Mostly agree. Except for the longer duration experienced by some patients. https://www.news-medical.net/news/20240206/How-is-long-COVID-different-from-other-post-viral-infection-syndromes.aspx

But are boosters still easily available in hospitals in Thailand?

You are free to believe what you want.

In the real world my niece is a doctor at a regional hospital. She tells me that doctors at her hospital that become infected are not allowed to take time off as before and may be infecting patients.

With the number of patients a government hospital doctor sees in a day numbers would rise dramatically.

got it. Bangkok. bed ridden for 6 days, lungs feeling like 2 hot potatoes out of the burning ashes (temp up to 40.5 degrees at some point. that's really high). Slow recovery. No fun. Take care.

Sad to hear that. This kind of COVID management (if it is true?) doesn't represent the outlined rules of any health department.

You wouldn't get many comments here, since this thread is occupied by COVID deniers and conspiracy members.

Thank you for your report. I hope many will read it and think about it.👍

If its 99.9% survivability and it originated in China again, then why are millions of Chinese just missing or gone?  Why are young people in China just dropping? If the truth is different  why would a government  tell its population or any country  different if it has the potential to stop the world like it did the last time.  Even the US government  keeps things from its people.

Thanks god!  Covid has cured the flu once more!!!

You did not mention your "vaccination" status.
