Visa Extension Methods

Featured Replies

In the past few weeks, I have heard some disturbing info. Two American expat friends have told me when they went in to renew their "extension based on retirement", the income method is no longer available. Both have over 65,000 baht deposited monthly directly from US social security to their Thai bank accounts, and have had for years. They were both told that only the 800,000 baht method would be accepted. They were given 2 month extensions in order to deposit and season the funds. I was shocked and have never heard anything like this before. This info came from the Chiang Mai office as well as Siam Legal!

Has anyone else heard this?

I have not heard this. Very surprised if factual.

What was the two month extension based on?

@SiamLegal  Is this really so?

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

SiamLegal hasn't logged on for 18 years so don't hold your breath waiting on a reply.

Correct. Apart from that nothing on their net advice.

That aside almost ready to close this thread.

Does not seem credible
