No, but it does back up the claim that Starmer is offering 5-year contracts to HMOs.

Yes, but I was claiming that the bit about the cost wasn't true .

I am saying that the cost quoted wasn't true , its not 50 Quid a night

Ah well,

Nope, I can't confirm that as it was second hand information.

I don't know why nearly every crackhead, drunkard and beggar on the UK streets is a white UK citizen.

I've seen a couple of blacks of West Indian origin out of their heads but they don't usually beg.

Never seen an Asian beg.

I agree, I went on a trip to London last year and to was shocked of all the Middle Easterners there. I stop with the family at a fish and chips shop and that was the worst experience I have ever had. Last but not least, had to pay $200 USD tax upon departure-Not a very good trip. The only highlight was the visit to Stonehedge. Next trip Edinburgh-"Happy Travels."

Free health care through taxation. These racist pensioners in Thailand know full well they have the security of returning home. Compare that to Americans who require insurance and lose everything if they leave.

I paid 20% of my wage during my working life for the "free health care", so why shouldn't I use it?

(10% employee + 10% employer NI contributions)

Similar to how I felt back jn 2017 when I closed the door on the UK for the last time.

The place I knew , grew up in etc, and of course great memories too, all consigned to history.

The funny part about doing that, closing it, it made my attitude and subsequent years and life in Thailand so much better by letting go and finally settling to this is where you are now.Your life is here.

I agree with you, but it's hard when I am ex forces and still have two sons living and working there, plus remaining close family bonds to see this devastation happen.

I've just returned from a 6 month visit. Last time I was there was 2018.

Supermarket prices have gone through the roof since my visit last year, and prices were very noticeable and much higher than previous visits. Drinking in decent places, unless you want to spend three weeks in Wetherspoon's, which I didn't, you don't get much change from a fiver for a pint.

I was actually surprised how cheap supermarket food still is especially if you buy supermarket brands and look for offers and multibuys. ASDA prices not too bad if you focus on rollback. Towards the end started shopping at Iceland and Farmfoods which are very cheap for bulk-buying.

Kingsmill / Hovis bread, £1

6 Cans of Heinz Lentil Soup, £6 or less

Back Bacon 300g, £1.50

8 Lincolnshire Sausages, £1.79

4 Breaded Cod Fillets £3.75

You can really tell what I pigged out on over there 😂

Takeaway food (pizza, parmo, kebabs) increased by at least 50% but high quality, for what it is, and very large portions. Chinese still pretty cheap and decent chips.

Decent beer still be had for £1 a can but a standard bottle of spirits has seen a big increase (£12 is tax) but heavily discounted over xmas / NY period e.g. 1L Baileys £10.

Beer in pubs up about £1 a pint. Peroni everywhere now instead of Stella. Carvery during off-peak times £9.

Yup, definitely a noticeable increase in the suburbs.

The town centres and city centres have been overrun by drug addicts aggressively asking people for money in the streets and not a policeman in sight.

Didn't visit the town centre myself. Parents advised against it as it was full of East European aggressive beggars. They seem to prefer to harass old people.

Big Boots store is closing soon which was one of the first shops to ever open in the town centre. People switching to online and 'out of town' shopping centres. The writing's been on the wall for a long time.

The city centres, I visited a few, are now full of vape shops or alleged '  TURKISH BARBER SHOPS '  which are not Turkish, they are Pakistani money laundering shops that only take cash.

I thought this was a joke until I saw it myself. Police are starting to raid these places now, comparing footfall from CCTV to claimed revenue.

I was told the government is offering HMO owners, (houses for multiple occupancy) 50 GBP per room per night to house migrants on a 5-year contract.

I looked into this for a flat I'm thinking of buying. Only SERCO in my area  but horror stories from landlords all over the internet. Seems like a good deal on the face of it. No management fees, 5-7 year lease, guaranteed rent every month, free repairs etc. In reality, stupid rules about replacing doors and windows every few years and they hand you back a shell of a house at the end of the contract; AVOID!!!

My buddy, who lives in the middle of Canada, tells me exactly the same.

The West is to be flushed down the crapper buddy - if the psychopathic governators get their way.

They'll probably blame it on Convid Nineteen and klimate chanje. 😂

However, Kier Starmer and his millionaire lefties cabinet colleagues are not seeing any of this. They are living far away in leafy suburbs, driving around in police convoys with armed bodyguards, oblivious as to what is going on in the North of England.

Don't let the Leftie emojinauts on this forum gaslight you.

You were there with boots on the ground.

An intentional societicide by the Controllers - unless enough push back.

What you documented is a carbon copy of what my mate says about Canada now.

   Its not possible

Now you're just being obtuse.  Post your evidence to support your opinion that the UK is not sliding into the economic and social abyss described in the first hand experience of the OP and others.  Proof of the positive impact of uncontrolled illegal immigration, proof of the revitalisation of urban centres by money laundering 'Turkish Barbers', evidence of the high efficiency and service culture of the NHS.

You seem to be avoiding the issue as deep down you know the UK is a lost cause, and that's why most forum members choose to live in a different country.

You were doing okay until your wrote that pile of steaming....

Are you suggesting that all this happened in one year? I seem to recall that the Conservatives being in from 2010 to 2024. Yet you are trying to implicate a Labour party that have been in for just one year....

Not as bad, I agree ..... but the weather!  Does it ever not rain, and 15'C summer temperatures are the norm.  If ever a country would benefit from global warming, Scotland is it.

Yip, weather is shocking but it's bitter sweet as that's what keeps most of the warm weather immigrants away....

I also don't look fwd to my annual trip home to visit the parents, as soon as they're planted i'll never return.

You keep bringing this up,if you are so curious about this than why don't you try?

Nobody really cares if you do,a lot of posters here think you are weird already.

Plus if a fat guy in a dress waddles around in Cambodia nobody will tell your mom or your sister.

At least the air is breathably pure in Scotland.

It is what it is mate!

I was disagreeing with the claim that the Government is offering landlords 50 Pounds a day to house some people in HMO's . That was the only point that I was contesting .

I was actually on a free flight this time using Avios points with Qatar and able to choose seats free of charge, due to Gold membership.

Not only that, but I was on the A380 as far as Doha and opted for the front seat 40A downstairs with loads of legroom. I was then on the A350, Doha to Manchester, again a decent seat with good legroom.

Do you really need to tell us how well off you are?

Like the OP, I just came back from a visit 'home'.  Definitely more expensive than my last visit (2016) but so is everywhere.

Luckily, I spent the time in leafy West Sussex and London, so didn't experience any of the grim sights mentioned.

Not sure it can be blamed on the current government who have only been in power for less than a year.  14 years of Tory misrule and the aftermath of Brexit are the culprits.

Outside the supermarkets, I visited about three different store brands from Tesco to Asda during my time there, plenty of beggars asking for change, These were white British people, many on drugs. It was like rough areas of the USA we see on TV.

I drove past and saw queues outside food banks. I was told by my son, that many were not desperate, they were begging food then selling it cheap to buy drugs,

We drove through an area where I was brought up as a child, which has now become a Pakistani stronghold, and they have built a large mosque. It was unrecognizable. Litter everywhere on the streets, as well as discarded sofas, fridges, just dumped anywhere and everywhere. It was like a filthy slum. There were rats scurrying around and these were visible in the daytime. Overflowing rubbish bins from takeaway shops, the towns are full of them, not sealed and food waste on the floor.

The town centres and city centres have been overrun by drug addicts aggressively asking people for money in the streets and not a policeman in sight.

I was also stopped by shoplifters selling everything from cheap perfume to bulk packs of washing powder.

There were groups of East Europeans on street corners, leering at passers-by. They were obviously up to no good.

The city centres, I visited a few, are now full of vape shops or alleged '  TURKISH BARBER SHOPS '  which are not Turkish, they are Pakistani money laundering shops that only take cash.

All the shops of yesteryear are gone. Everybody buys online. Town and city centres are no longer family friendly.

I saw women in the towns with children and babies, holding and waving bottles of booze and drunk at 11am in the morning.

A couple of what used to be good hotels in the centre are now fully occupied with migrants.

Same old Liverpool then, nothing's changed!
