Featured Replies

If anyone has been scammed, can you tell me if reporting it will lead to getting my money back or will it just be a waste of time? A figure of around 150,000 thb.

From a person, a business, a FB page, a TikTok ad, a Line ad, .....

The thing you bought was it legal, illegal?

How long have you been waiting fore delivery?

Any communication with the seller?

If you talk cryptic, it is hard to give advice.

What is her name, somebody here may know her

Did you know the person, or was this entitely online?

There are a lot of people in this world who seem to be too lazy to work and would prefer to steal other people's money rather than hold down an honest job. Because of that we have to be incredibly cautious if we're buying from someone we don't know, and especially when we're buying online.

If they're in Thailand it's best just to travel to wherever they are and do the transaction in person. If they have excuses as to why that can't happen that's a big red flag.

Untill you've lost 5 million, you have no right to say you have been "scammed"..150k is a mere tip

You could report it to the police but it is highly unlikely anything would come from it. Probably best to just accept you have lost the money.

Facebook? Facebook do nothing but sometimes the police get involved if several people scammed

Report it to facebook and get them banned - they will act - also how did you pay, was it through facebook or some direct payment and also where is the recipient based (what country) ?

You didn't give much in the way of details - was it someone in Thailand who scammed you? How was the purchase made etc?

Personally for me in Thailand, the biggest purchase I would make would be a motorbike, that I buy on site from either someone I know or an established business. Generally I trust Thai people on day to day things, moreso than I would say Indians, Filipinos and Africans who you have to keep on their necks if you want a trustworthy service, but still when you get into that 5 digit+ range of  purchase I am very cautious and paranoid as a lot will have a thought on their mind on how to get over on you.

f Fabio can’t even be arsed to provide the barest shred of relevant detail, why the hell should anyone even bother giving this oxygen ?

Frankly, it’s no surprise he got scammed - when someone is so intellectually barren that they ask for help without offering even the most basic context, they deserve the black hole of silence they invite. Expecting others to play psychic while those asking for assistance dribble out nothing is lazy....

Why don't you think twice before writing bulls***? I'm not as lucky as you that I can spend the whole day on the forum and, today, I drove almost all day. Now that I'm at my destination, as soon as I've settled in, I'll read the various comments. Thanks

I bought using bank transfer and the recipient is in Thailand. At least the bank is a Thai bank.

Why don't you think twice before asking for assistance - its impossible for anyone to offer help with the lack of information you provided...

Its like asking...   "I got hit, what can I do ?" - the question itself is so vauge its impossible.... So, as for thinking twice... Give it a try...

There aren't any that offer advice, because you provided zero context.

There's plenty of help here... but you really need to help others help you, if you get my point...

Step by step list...

Items, locations (you and them), communications methods, where you first saw the item advertised, payment methods, nationalities involved, expected delivery methods etc...

Whether this was a private sale, or from a business etc

The more info you provide, the more help you can get...

What was it about?

I was scammed last year and send a deposit (purchased an item on fb).

The address to collect was faked though I was sent a photo of the property.

I lost the 1000 Baht deposit, went straight to the police. They told me I was No 48 this months. Telling me this they sat yawning in their comfortable chairs.

End of the story.

Useless to contact them.

Maybe a million baht watch for 150 K

You really need to give more details.

What did you buy?

Are you in Thailand, and did you send the money FROM a Thai bank?

When did that happen and what communications have you had or attempted with the seller since?

Be gullible for a few k, but 150k without ever meeting the seller, that's just moronic.

I got scammed by a seller on FB.

I told Kbank my debit card had been used fraudulently and they refunded my money.

But my situation may or may not have matched yours, so it may or may not be relevant in your case.

If you want people to help you, you really need to give a LOT more information.

You mentioned you were driving all day, but you clearly had time to write your initial post. Maybe you should have waited to write it when you weren't so rushed and had time to include more details.

It amazes me how many times I see requests for help or advice where the poster gives almost zero info for people to work with.

It only takes a little while to go to the police report I would do it what do you have to lose you already lost the money TIT

First thing is to immediately file a police report and inform the bank.

Who can do absolutely nothing with the amount of information he is sharing.
