Just sad the see the latest news for the day:

Thailand Battles Covid Surge with 12,000 Cases in a Single Day

Thailand could be doing much better in  that regard, if they were actually serious about doing the proven things that help prevent COVID deaths and lessen the likelihood of COVID infections.

  • No Thailand doesn't battle a Covid surge. Some people benefit from scaring the public.   It's all a lot of nonsense.

  • No stopping the spread. It's the nature of the virus. Rapid spread. Natural herd immunity will be achieved and the surge will die down until the next sub-variant comes along. The fact of the matter is

No thanks. Up to you, but please don’t push that carry-on on others. If the elderly are sick and worried, then they might want to do the mask thing. As dinsdale says, it is what it is and is trivial i

Neither do I, but I know several that died from the adverse effects of the Covid-shots they took.

Its crazy how all of those things are just given a pass. So many outlandish statements made by various officials.

Naaa it'll be fine.

Yes, and now just brushed under the carpet, and those of us that didn't believe the BS are just supposed to forget about it

I've found it difficult to find a covid vaccine update shot living in Rawai. None of the public hospitals are getting any. Bangkok Hospital is the only place to get one? With the ridiculous price?

I find it unbelievable how many here run their stupid, misinformed mouths at getting the vaccine, wearing masks, dismissing all this. Maybe it won't kill you, but these are all minor inconveniences for the payoff of not getting severely sick. This is a no-brainer. All this covid around will catch up to you. It can make you very sick and can kill you.

Good luck and by that I mean...

Very loud uncovered sneezing and nose picking doesn't help.

Cases are not deaths, same as they were not the first time round, cohnting cases is fro the paranoid and fear spreaders to repost, exactly as you are.

there was a time when Mr science Fauci told the world not to worry unless you have symptoms.... that all changed to locking everyone way if testing positive, even though the guy who invented the test said it wasn't reliable for Coronavirus.

How do you know unless your getting your blood tested for antibodies. This virus can have no symptoms (asymptomatic) or very, very mild symptoms that basically people ignore. A sneeze here or there, a slight sore throat, a bit of a cough etc. could all be a Covid-19 infection.

So if there are no symptoms, why test for anything?  This goes beyond ridiculous.  No one tests for anything unless they feel ill?  It’s as though the world is willing us to find Covid under any unturned stone.

Yup.  Social distancing, masks, hand sanitiser, lock down everything, for the rest of time.  It's the only way.  🤦‍♂️

Better than locked-down in shopping malls! Have you seen the new Dior palace. Dior even willingly admits everything is faux!

Wife and I did our COVID stint back in May, my daughter still hasn't gotten COVID yet. Wife and I have had it the first go around during the pandemic, and again this May, both times she got me sick. I had the 3 initial shots way back, my wife and daughter have had continuous vaccination shots. This time it lasted about 3-1/2 weeks to run it's full course for both of us. I would still rather have FLU over COVID any day.

This is my whole point. You can have Covid without knowing you have been exposed. It can be asymptomatic or have extremely mild symptoms. Anyone saying they know they've never had Covid is full of BS or simply doesn't understand the virus and what asymptomatic means.

As I said. Non-severe for the vast majority. Let's face people who are in the vulnerable group can catch a cold, get a secondary bacterial lung infection that turns into pneumonia and die. I would not be surprised if this is more common than dying from covid.

Okay, but are you in the tiny minority. You'll never know until that smugness bites back.

What "tiny minority" would that be? The tiny minority are people with severe comorbidities.

The FFP mask should become mandatory in cramped spaces like public transport, malls etc.

Permanently or only during identified outbreaks?

I seriously wonder who much money the Thai Health Department spends on Covid tests

a fraction of what the UK spent on its "world leading" track and trace disgrace, we'll never know the full amount

It would be helpful if they did their homework and disclosed whether this is a new strain and what it's called, and if there has been a vax developed specifically for the new strain if it is in fact a new strain. Also, we should be informed as to how many of these people were previously vaxxed, as well as telling us whether our own previous vax is good for the new strain (most probably yes)

what about those who have had covid already ?   their immunity is rarely mentioned

"There was this collective trauma around the death, disease, and lockdowns," said Ziyad Al-Aly, MD, a global expert on long COVID and chief of research and development at the VA Saint Louis Health Care System.

there was also mass hysteria fuelled by the media and other scaremongers,     still is to this day.

How do you know you haven't had Covid ?  subjecting yourself to daily brain tickling nasal swabs or blood tests ?

Are you still wearing a mask in your V8  and while having sex ?

Try your act at a comedy club and don't waste our bandwidth with this drivel.

Of course it originated from outside Thailand and is considered a Farang disease. If it gets worse I would not be surprised if all Farang be required to provide proof of a vaccine shot at immigration. Considering the side effects of the vaccine I will obtain a medical exemption certificate if necessary. Meanwhile I am wearing a mask again.

Given how anti-foreigner the Thai government has become, it wouldn't surprise me.  They are incrementally making it more difficult and more troublesome to visit Thailand.  How many people are deciding to visit elsewhere because of all the changes and requiring a vaccine certificate would be a significant disincentive.

I won't be wearing a mask anytime soon and I will not be getting any more covid vaccines. Something like the Bubonic plague would have to come along for me to get another vaccine,

Would you mind expanding a little on that? Did you suffer adverse events, or do you have a reason to be wary? It is my understanding that these vaccines are safe and effective, and that smart, educated people follow the science and choose inoculation.

There is also a push to intensify vaccination efforts across provinces, particularly in densely populated urban areas.

I would be interested in seeing uptake statistics.

This is the most pro-foreigner government I have seen in my 15+ years here. Inundating the country with farangs.

It is funny to see how farangs down vote anybody say anything against the standard narratives.

I’m in Europe right now, doing the usual tourist stuff amid big summer crowds. No face masks anywhere whatsoever, no Covid hysteria. You have to wonder why It’s just Thailand that’s so vulnerable to this disease.

But there is no hysteria here, life goes on.

Reporting on reported cases is not fear-mongering.

Only hysteria I see around Covid is here.

They are not making it difficult at all. Tourists don't have any issues, neither do you unless you are tyring to scam long term visas
