Ducks do fly a bit. But they cannot go straight up like a Harrier Jet. Or hover like a kingfisher. And they don't really swim. Just sit on the water and paddle.

 

However! The do make loyal pets.

I agree that when the ducks are in the mood they can go on long flights. But I'm sure you will appreciate their way of getting going requires a lot of space. A duck without feet couldn't fly.

The paper says it was exacerbated by Covid, so it has something to do with it.

 

But yes, as per the chart I posted above, the rates have gone up for 3 decades, roughly since the internet and mobile phone were popularised.

I understand that Covid had a bad influence, people's businesses going bankrupt doesn't help with mental wellbeing. If vaccinations had anything to do with it, it would have a delayed effect. Don't think that people getting a vaccination immediately effected their mental health in a bad way.

Yes, I strongly doubt vaccinations had anything to do with it, clearly the economic disaster that were the lockdowns created the added pressures and higher mental health issues.

 

And yet it is women who have more than double the rate of mental health disorders, so it is not just down to environmental factors, gender clearly pays a far bigger role.

 

It's actually scary if you think 70% of women have mental health issues.

Was there a special strain of COVId that infected British youth that they became so mentally distressed they couldn't work?

 

Seems like in the rest of the world that particular strain never appeared 

 

We all feel down in the dumps sometimes, but you dust yourself off and go to work.

 

You know I'm a total Anglofile, I love your country, but the ability for a 20 yo to say his/her mental health prevents them from working and the State pays them money for 'feeling down'' is absurd.

 

Men came back from war after seeing some pretty bad stuff and  I'm sure pretty traumatized and went back to work

 

I'm not saying real mental illness isn't a thing, but seriously so many young Brits can't work cos they're mentally impaired!
