These are all steroids. They will suppress the symptoms for a while,  and then it will come back. Avoid them.

You can try what @NickyLouieand I recommend above. Our assumption is that it's fungus.  If antifungal therapy (without any steroids!) doesn't have any effect in a week or so, go see a doctor.

Agree, reasonable way to proceed.

If antifungal seems to work continue it for at least a  week past full disappearance of the rash.

A very long time ago, I had an itchy horrible rash on my ham. Went to see my gp in the UK numerous times, tried all sorts of creams: No effect.

On my first trip here, I spoke with a pharmacist who recommended Fucidin antibiotic cream.

Itwas completely eradicated in a week, with no reoccurrence.

Costs about 120 baht.

This is a good antibiotic cream (though in the armpit I would rather use Clinidagel = clindamycin gel, another one).

Antibiotics work if the rash is caused by bacteria., not fungus.

We don't really know what causes the rash,  but treating it as fungus, like @NickyLouie recommended,  is worth a try.

I would not use a shotgun approach, using many different creams for every causative agent imaginable.

Zalain is good. If it works,  continue at least 1 week after complete disappearance of symptoms.

If it doesn't work after a week,  see a doctor.

Try changing washing liquid to a mild, natural one with no bleaching agents.

Also try shirts that have a lose fit to avoid contact with clothing under armpit.

many cleaning products and clothes detergents/ softeners, etc have chemicals that can cause skin problems.   I wash clothes with only baking soda and a touch of vinegar.   clean and no odor .

also i use baking soda as a deoderant or when have insect bites...

A VERY INEXPENSIVE and safe thing would be to make a thick paste of BS and water and put it on the area .   In armpit will flake off little by little.  Clean with water and put on again .   TRY it ....  nothing to lose

Consider reaction from laundry detergent and sweat . Try a little baking soda gently applied by finger tip afyer showering. Incidentally  baking soda also acts very efficiently as an armpit deodorant  and costs sfa .

just saw this post .   happy to see someone else knows about baking soda .  good for many things !    A great solution for almost anytime one has case of heartburn/ stomach gas .   One teaspoon in water..... within a very short time a nice burp will set you free.    (not medical advice  😉)

Yet another ridiculous health thread. Go to a doctor or go to a chemist/pharmacy. Why ask on here?

Soda water does the same trick.

Had that on scalp 2 years ago, antibiotics from dermatology hospital at victory monument, better than the private one before that. This is not the same as that.

Just the one, had it about three months, tried a few ointments and lotions from the pharmacy which has some effect, but comes back. Anyone any idea what it is and how to get rid of it? Not using any deodorants on it, starting to itch a bit.

That would only help with a skin fungus. That doesn't look like a fungus.

Not shingles had vaccine for that and had it before, not the same

Agree, what you have looks nothing like shingles. And his advice for a steroid cream for shingles is also wrong. For shingles the treatment is a pill form of antiviral.

Last time I did it's the same collection of meds they give that I have been trying one at a time, minus doxycycline. Might end up going to the one at Victory monument again but it's a bit of a trek and you need to speak Thai really.

I would go see a doctor. It looks serious enough to want to get the right information and not keep guessing.

There are some good female dermatologists in the dermatology department at Bangkok Christian Hospital. An office visit won't cost you a lot there and if they want to prescribe you anything just ask them to write it down and tell them you'll buy it yourself outside the hospital to save cost.

In my very non-expert opinion, I would say it could be some form of autoimmune issue or caused by contact dermatitis.

Looks similar to scabies. Could try sulfur soap.

Not scabies. The itch would be overwhelming. Then he would scratch and it would have spread by now to in between the knuckles on the hand and to the inner thighs.

Looka like bacterial as the Fucidin is getting rid of it after only 24 hours

creams clobet and T.A cream and lotion T.V. Lone, lotion knocked it back but not completely

had that 1 month ago and had it a few times already. i used liquid soap for oily skin and  Canesten. if you are game... i also used a cotton sheet with rubbing alcohol a few times to disinfect but probably not recommended... gone in 10 days. this infection really burns and is pretty smelly.  wash with cerave liquid soap  and use CLOTRIMAZOLE dusting powder 1%. it can be found in most pharmacies but not all.

i had that exact same thing

Interesting that an antibacterial cream would be good for something like that. It doesn't look like an infection.

I've used antibacterial cream for skin issues in the past where it was a known bacteria infection, things like an abscess, but I would not expect that kind of cream to help for something like that. But if it works, great, and no point in questioning it. Just carry on until it's gone. Shouldn't be that long if it's working.
