Homepro Condo Renovation

Featured Replies

Has anyone used Homepro for a complete condo renovation in the Pattaya area?

How was the experience, what was the rough cost if possible please 48 sq?

Or recommendations for a local company?

Thank you for the suggestion, I took a look, seems like they don't handle the whole project like HomePro

Try it and see, it crossed my mind a few years ago because it was difficult finding trades people

My own experience of Homepro is that they are good for fitting specific items bought from the store, but I'm not convinced they could manage a more general refurbishment.

I've used them to fit a new circuit board, install kitchen units and for curtains, but I used a local contractor for the general painting, repairs and alterations.

You might be right, I am putting feelers out for a good local company

I have found HomePro services to be good. I have not had a whole renovation, but every time they do something, someone calls and follows up with my wife to make sure we were completely happy with the service.

HomePro sells the work, they do not do the work. They have local contractors that do the work, and they have a lot to choose from. I think it is a safe choice, but likely will not be the cheapest. Everything they do has a warranty of some kind.

Just have them quote it. I paid about B500 to have them site inspection and quote painting my "new" house inside and out, and the quote was meticulous, and I was able to specify exactly what materials I wanted used.

and an advantage it won't be falang price, which it can be especially if farang are involved with running a company, get that a lot in Pattaya

That's like asking how long is a piece of string.

You haven't even given basic list of what you plan.

As someone posted earlier... We have used homepro for specific tasks.

Example install a kitchen etc.

Found them very good.

Current job we are using Kitchen cabinet company and they also have been fantastic.

We have done several and never ceases to amaze how there is a network of trades people.

Helps if you have one "main guy"

He will know people in all aspects (trades)

Condos are simple. Have you had a chat with any buildings in the area.

Especially in Pattaya where lot of farang ownership there are buildings that would have had many "makeovers"

They can connect you.

As stated earlier.... Homepro great for specific jobs.

Handy for small stuff as so cheap.

For example the current job has two bathrooms both with baths.

Replacing the bath/shower/rain heads.

For removal of existing and instal new was something ridiculous like 800b

Installation of tv onto wall... That sort of thing homepro excellent.

Good luck

Excellent advice, yes sorry I am a bit vague as I am just getting started on the project, I have seen a couple of local companies that look interesting, I will get them in for some quotes.

One problem I have had is there was a bad termite infection, those buggers traveled around the room like crazy, a problem in this older building

Thanks again for the input

Get rid of the termites before you start.

Make sure all of you quotes call out materials and whatnot separately.

There is nothing wrong with paying a fee for a company to quote on a job of any significant size. Personally, I would rather they charge.

Yes, been doing that, put poison boxes down where the trails were, on top of it hopefully, and you are right, sooner pay for a quote, maybe have it deducted later if I use that company

Hire an exterminator.

Don't worry about getting it back, you have to pay it either way.

I just learned that the recently opened "MEGA HOME" big box stores are owned by HOME-PRO.

As a more comprehensive building materials outlet, maybe worth stopping by at one.  I know they do have a design center.

I bought an air conditioner from Mega Home last year and the installation was by Home Pro as both companies have the same ownership.  The HP installation team of about 4 people did a very good job and was careful in moving and covering items with plastic in the bedroom where the installation was done.  Based on what I was expecting for local service works I was very pleased with their approach and performance.  I would happily use them again.  I have not heard they do larger multi function type renovations and would be interested in hearing how the job went if you use them.  My experience was positive and I guess you can meet with them and discuss the scope of work to evaluate their understanding and capabilities.

Mega stores are excellent.I used  HP for my bathroom renovation and they were OK. However I prefer the smaller condo renovation company's frankly . , more friendly .

I ordered a ceiling fan and installation from Homepro. After the team was unable to complete the work correctly I reported it, they credited me for the cost of the fan and installation. I still have the fan!:post-4641-1156694572:
