My 80 year old friend from home got caught short whilst looking for a new mop in that Big C. He shat in a blue plastic bucket right there in the aisle, used his underwear to wipe himself and hobbled away on his walker without looking back.  The guy had no shame.  I can't think of that Big C or blue plastic mop buckets without envisioning the look on the face of the person who had to deal with that bucket.

He could have been better accommodated in Homepro!

  • Think of it as an opportunity. You may discover stuff you never knew existed. For example I never knew about thirts.   They even have helpful staff on hand to guide you.

Lots of outlets closing down, Dairy Queen the ice cream place, has the lease run out and they are not prepared to pay an increase in rent ?

Big C shop is devoid of customers as well, has all the moving of everyday products to the back of the store put people off and they have still not finished yet.

The restaurant on the left as you enter is boarded up also

During the week I was there a couple of times.

On first occasion I was completely confused.

Checkouts moved toward the shelf's and to the right. Half the number or so of before.

Open space where you can walk out unhindered. One hawk eye standing and watching that everyone has found the checkout 🤣

What's going on?

Big shrink? Rebuilding works ahead? (leaking roof).

Currently looks like a provisional site.

There isn't one to the left of Big-C so do you mean left of the front Klang entrance, Japanese place?

On left as you go into main Klang entrance, thought it was a Thai restaurant

Well whatever, it is closed now and boarded off, saw it yesterday. Not so comfortable a place to sit nowadays Big-CX food court, as one is hemmed in by boarded up areas, there was a seat shortage at midday. What with the inability to find things upstairs it's all a bit of a PIA!

Big C Extra deserves the loss of customers....

I want FREE plastic grocery bags again like the old days...

And

I want good value beef...Like in the old days...

And

I want to buy a box of 4 of those Quiche rounds for 180 baht like in the old days.

And folk the old days were only in 2019 and before...

If you mean sirloin (striploin) or similar then look in the stand alone fridge they have on the left just as you enter.

At either 499 or 599  a kilo from memory the Aussie striploin from there is at least as tasty as the BangkokBob/Jagota Aussie striploin that is now well north of 1k per kilo.

I think that is even cheaper than 2019.........

Pretty weird having the checkout in the middle of the store. I hope people don't walk out with things in the front by mistake, looking for the checkout then get caught shoplifting.

I don't think this will be a permanent situation.

And as written there is always one employee on the outlook to "help you find the way".

TBH i have been there a few times in the last week, the place is devoid of customers, not sure all the changes is keeping people away. The philosophy is get you to walk through the clothing department hoping you will buy something. After speaking to the staff the moves are permanent but still a few more counters to move yet.

Like most airports now you walk through the duty free to get to the boarding gates

Nothing to stop you providing the items aren’t tagged, I doubt Big C have a manned cctv system to monitor customers even if they did they would be too busy playing on their phones.

I'm always getting followed.

Always by pretties, good looking women, young beauties.

So they are undercover security, nice to know. 😎

This is exceptional, there are old men wandering lost because they cannot find things. They are using special helpers to direct such lost customers to the soap powder. I got an impression they were going to have a large alcohol area, presuming there would soon be 24/7 sales allowed. My usual routine of going directly for what is on my list is all awry. I don't shop like a woman, feeling the obligation to see everything and peruse every single aisle. I looked for a particular cat food for 10 minutes, cat food now being mixed in with dog food...  then finding what I wanted on a completely different aisle!

The place is beginning to look like a USA Wallmart.

My world is collapsing, as is the roof in that Mall.

In effect, you are now shopping like a female, no?

Makro did the same thing a few months ago, I'd just go straight to staff and ask where something was, I'm not wasting time searching makro

Searching for things in Makro be like: Where's the ketchup?

What are the little nuts on the bread rolls in Big C Extra?

I remember when it was Carre 4.m  Big C was down by Dolphin roundabout.  I liked the variety and option of two different stores.  Now all Big C

Agreed. I left a handheld shopping basket in one of the isles one time and walked away. Way in the back of the store when nobody was around. Right before I got to the front threshold near the main hallway an employee came up behind me with the basket thinking I forgot it, I assume, or just giving it back to me.

The weird thing was the basket was empty and it was obvious I was leaving. 😂

They are watching your every move in there, most likely on cameras from the ceiling.

As I discussed with someone else, their cunning plan worked, I had a couple of items in my basket that I would normally not buy and were not on THE list, they had me browsing, looking for things.

Fiendishly clever! Curse them!
