For one I dont know why cannabis is still treated like a "dangerous narcotic" especially when it compared to tobacco which if she imported to the UK she would be perfectly fine except for maybe paying some customs fee.  For two what kind of smuggling job is this and others that I've seen in the headlines?  No discrete carrying an kg or 2 on or inside the person, or elaborately concealed in the luggage with a false bottom or inside an item disguised at something else.  Just 2 giant bulky suitcases weighing over 35 kgs in total which is way more than any airline gives as a limit unless extra fee.  Weighs more than all my possessions in one suitcase including my electronics and winter clothes when I'm traveling and I always carry way too much luggage.

What kind of mastermind trafficking smuggling syndicate muppets came up with this genius plan?  🤣

Its astonishing how dumb these people are. There are regular reports about all this in all media, yet these dummies still think its a good idea .

she initially claimed were tobacco-filled bags

31 kilograms!

That would be 31,000 grams. UK only allows 250 grams duty-free for tobacco.

So it was a guarantee her luggage was going to be inspected based solely on her claim of possessing tobacco!

20 months!!! Did she "know" the judge or something!

"..........but facing harsh penalties when caught."

If she'd been busted in Thailand she'd have been languishing in the Bangkok Hilton for a few more years than that!!!

She was promised £10,000 (440,000 baht) for her role and was supplied with flights for both herself and a companion. However, she received no payment.

Because she got caught ! ,she must have thought it was a good idea at the time,

and never heard of the many other people that got caught at UK airports , maybe

she heard about he stunning influencer that got caught at Manchester airport ,

same weight ,she got of with probation ,the judge must have fancied her ,and

maybe thought I'll get the same treatment , but she was not in the same class....

Her solicitor, Bradley Mather, told the court she had faced mounting debts, was on benefits, and suffered from several health issues. He argued that her decision was made under duress and economic pressure and noted the likely repercussions for her family, particularly her daughter’s living arrangements.

So how did she get the money for the Thailand vacation?

I think this is all complete nonsense!!! I'm sure she and the others were hired in the UK. They were given two weeks' vacation in Thailand, including flights and hotels plus the additional 10.000 pounds after return, and then they were supposed to bring the marijuana back on the return flight to the UK or wherever.

Not quite, but 10 months in jail, and 10 months "supervision" isn't exactly "harsh" in my book!

Seem's like a very very lenient sentence!🤔

Smuggling will all stop with death penalty, especially in countries like Singapore and Malaysia.

it has not stopped though has it , they are still executing  people

I bet Bella wished she’d been caught in the UK🤔

Can you not read or do you have learning difficulties?    Where do you think she was caught?

Good thing Thailand criminalized weed again. Too tempting for dumbos like her to try to smuggle into the UK.

Say what???????

What's a pound of weed worth in UK?

It used to be about £10/gram sold singularly for green, so about £4500 based on that.  I haven't smoked it myself for years though and have never asked the current price from any friends that still do.

Come on. She was only smuggling 31 kilos of drugs.

It not like she posted a nasty Tweet or something.

£35 for a Henry sounds about right.

Obviously, you’re the one with learning difficulties. Bella was the girl that got caught in Georgia who is facing life imprisonment for roughly the same amount of cannabis

This lady’s name is Louisa De Marco

“Eraser” Jonny you’re like a dog with a bone.

Comparing this to your heroine’s sentence for inciting far right thugs to murder human beings in their accommodation is sick.

Bet you’ve been itching to shoehorn your far right bigotry into an unrelated post eh?

Yeah, this drug smuggler wasn't even married to a Tory.

Totally different situation.

What was I thinking? 😃

Probably people go looking for easy targets at party venues.

Was waiting for it to say she was 26, if you read UK tabloids online sometimes...lot of people convicted have aged hard due to lifestyle....listed age a shocker at times.

Airport Immigrations should have a WALL OF SHAME to  post photos of these idiots so passengers waiting in line to clear outbound immigrations can see what could be in their future.

£4,500 and she was going to get paid £10,000 plus free flights?

If its £10 per gram, wouldn't that amount to £310,000 worth?

Twenty months compared to twenty years is OK. And she'll be out in half of that; so after 'time served' she'll only do about 6 or 7 months. However, if she'd got away with the 31 Keys is worth about £60K in bulk. So some might consider it well worth the risk.

i just dont get it.

low returns, high risk. You would have to be a moron to smuggle weed with so many higher profit alternatives out there

Heroin? Fentanyl? Ice?

Yes, to name three that would be easier to transport, harder to detect, and provide a higher cash yield. Cocaine and MDMA also spring to mind.

Yet, again well done Sherlock...everything is paid by the real people behind it....yes.

Think you have brought this up in 2 threads...generally drug MULES pay for nothing end-to-end..since they are broke and desperate.

I don't know much about drugs but I used to go birding in Pai, And I knew locals there. It was a huge scam.

Council estate areas in the UK.

Thailand really has the pits reputation around the world at the moment with smuggling.

A lady got a very lenient sentence for smuggling last year, i just knew then that would be the start of this.
