Two individuals, a Swedish national and a Thai woman, have been arrested in Phuket on suspicion of cocaine trafficking, following a police operation that led to the seizure of narcotics and associated drug paraphernalia.

The arrests were carried out by officers from Patong Police Station. The suspects, identified as a 41-year-old Swedish man and a 32-year-old Thai woman, were initially detained in front of a convenience store on Rat Phatthana-Nusorn Road, located in the Patong subdistrict of Kathu district.

Following the arrest, police conducted a follow-up search at a condominium unit on Soi Samakki 2 in the Rawai subdistrict of Mueang Phuket district. Additional evidence was seized at the premises.

In total, authorities confiscated 15.37 grams of cocaine, 80 resealable plastic bags commonly used for packaging drugs, a digital weighing scale, two iPhones and a yellow MG5 automobile believed to have been used in the commission of the offence.

Police have charged the pair with joint possession and trafficking of a Category 2 narcotic, cocaine, with intent to distribute, in violation of The Narcotics Act.

“The amount of cocaine and the presence of distribution materials, including the resealable bags and weighing device, strongly suggest intent to supply rather than personal use,” said a senior officer involved in the case.

Both suspects are currently being held at Patong Police Station while legal proceedings continue. Their names have not yet been disclosed as the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities confirmed that the case will be referred to the Phuket Provincial Court. If found guilty, the accused could face significant prison terms and heavy fines, in accordance with strict anti-narcotics laws.

The arrests form part of an ongoing crackdown targeting the illegal drug trade in Phuket’s tourist zones, where officials have voiced increasing concern about narcotics trafficking involving foreign nationals.

The Royal Thai Police have reiterated their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy on drug offences, urging all residents and visitors to adhere to the nation’s laws.

The man has ruined the woman's life, and his own. She probably trusted him when he said there won't be a problem.

Or vice versa  it might have all been her idea

Half an ounce of coke! Half an ounce!  The police ought to be out and about arresting real criminals such as those who regularly commit traffic offences and thus endanger lives.

There's a whole host of serious crime that police should be dealing with. This is not one of them.

15 grammes of coke is nothing in the grand scale of things.

It just equals one busy party!

Can I start my day before you make a fool out of yourself? Lucky for you that you found 1 Swede, among 990 Brits.

However, Guys like this is a disgrace for my country and should be locked away and forgotten. Just another total dork that thought he found an easy way to money. Guys like this should try real work that makes men of them, instead of living a life slowly killing other people. In my opinion all persons related to distributing illegal drugs, should be charged with attempted murder.

Absolutely, he should get a job as a bus driver in Sweden.0564a21b74e871224692715cd5adfd23.jpg.eca82d12ee8e7509359925dd21f3ced0.jpg

15 grams really isn't much and probably could have gotten possession if they didn't make themselves look sus with all the distribution stuff.  never keep stuff like that with the stash.   If you're selling grams you dont need a scale.

That might be true for some drugs like heroin, cocaine, meth and opioids, but not for marijuana, which doesn't cause near the problems or deaths that alcohol does. Remember the ongoing fact that hundreds die each year from doctor prescribed drugs, which are legal.

In this case you can state what you want. In my opinion illegal drugs, should be punished as I told. so far, I don´t think alcohol is an illegal drug, or do little Freddy have another opinion?
