That's what they say, but it makes no sense. I just set my VPN to Cambodia and I can access every Thai media outlet I can think of.

It can only be blocked by Cambodia as they don't want people to read "the other side" as it is very very different from what they are being told. Well you are actually in Cambodia. Can you access https://www.khaosodenglish.com/ ? https://www.nationthailand.com/ ?

Find one you are blocked from accessing and I will try with a Cambodia VPN, if I can access it then the blocking is happening from Cambodia.

I am sure there is misinformation on both sides.

I would advise against it anyway. In Australia, I daresay Americans are as popular as a fart in a bathysphere.

You probably don't know in our election of a few months ago, the Trump-leaning conservative parties were so comprehensively annihilated the leader lost his seat.

Thanks for your interest,

For reference, here in Cambodia I cannot access The Nation and Bangkok Post websites (blocked/429 too many requests/ 403 forbidden)

No problems accessing The Thaiger and Khaosod English websites where I now get my information from.

Thanks for checking. Definitely blocked by Cambodia then as I can access if I set my VPN to Cambodia.

That the army are saying the Thais have blocked it so you don't see "the slanderous news about Cambodia because they are the perpetrators but are afraid that people will know the truth" but have blocked it themselves is very telling.

Me too. Woke this morning at 1 minute past 0400 as a low rumble rumbled in the distance. Got out of bed to check the time.  Then woke again around 0615 as some even more distant rumbles rumbled. I find my brain is now highly tuned to even the softest of rumbles..

We are less than 40 minutes away from the agreed cease fire. I sincerely wish that this is the end of unnecessary killing.

I hope that you guys will let us know whether the guns have stopped.

Well if anything this will reveal who's in charge very quickly, the politicians or the generals - in both countries.

And what is the Epoch Times saying?

While the Thai one wears thick, poster paint makeup.

Since the two PM's agreed to this it should hold. If it doesn't, then it means they're not calling the shots. No other way to look at it. I'd have trouble believing that Cambodia's generals would cross Hun Sen's son. So let's see.

And we are 100% sure the Thai army commanders who were publicly slighted by the current Thai Culture Minister are beholden to her chosen successor?

I hope you are right. My family is in Lamduan and didn't need to evacuate, but there was starting to be concern that they might have to.

Is Route 24 between Prakhon Chai, Prasat, Sangkha, etc. safe at this point? I'm guessing 224 and 214 are not.

I would imagine they're as safe as it gets, but there may be random military security check points. Just in case, make sure you are NOT using Google Maps and turn off any GPS-enabled devices. It may also help to have some sort of Buddhist statue or similar in the back seat and say you're delivering it to a local temple. Failing that, loads of amulets and other fripperies dangling from your rear-view mirror.

And waii like a man possessed.

For info, yesterday morning, the Bangkok Post was "blocked" inside Thailand with "502 bad gateway" flag. When it was restored, they had the king's birthday greeting as the landing page. Probably an IT cock-up at the Bangkok Post rather than the Nation's claim of their website being swamped by hackers and DoS attempts from Cambodia.

In a major diplomatic breakthrough, Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to an unconditional ceasefire to end days of intense border clashes, following a high-level meeting in the Malaysian capital. The ceasefire is set to take effect at midnight on the 28 July

After spitting out the dummy and acting like babies both sides finally realised this was going to cause more damage to their own economy than bring about anything worthwhile...

Puffed up chests of military generals can now deflate and go back to the barracks and tell stories around the camp fire about how well they did.

Good to see / hear. I'm waiting for Donald Trump to take the credit for facilitating and bringing about the Cease Fire. He is such a pompous ass.  Can't stand that moron.

And that was the daily speech from today´s minority.

Hun Manet voiced optimism that the ceasefire would pave the way for hundreds of thousands of displaced citizens to return to normal life. “It is time to rebuild trust and confidence between Cambodia and Thailand,” he said.

I'll believe that when I see Thasin and Hun Sen meeting for tea & cakes.

Today was the first day of absolute silence in my village since this madness started. There is an Artillery unit stationed in a field 2 km from my village. The Thai army came into my village and declared martial law and everybody had to leave. We left with everybody else but sneaked back after dark, I wasn't going to sleep on the floor of a community center. 90% of the village went to Surin, we heard later that 3 shells landed in Surin, where it was 'safe', our village which was in the danger area was unscathed.

This morning I went for a walk, on the way I met one of the monks from our temple who I knew very well. I see you didn't leave he said and then pointed to his usual alms giving area, they've all gone he said sadly and showed me his empty bowl, if my brother monks don't have better luck we won't eat today. Unintended consequences. The temple dogs played, the chickens with their chicks scratched the earth and the flocks of crows flew between the trees, only the humans with their great intelligence couldn't just let things be.

They certainly hadn't stopped in Khoksalaeng (Phanom Dong Rak) last night when my b/f visited the family farm to check on his old Dad & brothers. Cambodian shells/rockets raining down.

But no Thai replies as far as I can tell from here in Prasat (many despatched from close by & very alarming to the inexperienced).

Normal for ceasefire agreements everywhere in the world. Happened in WW1 & WW2 ...  The ceasefire starts at the next midnight & till then the shelling continues and even more intensely just to remind everyone of what will happen if they break the ceasefire.

More likely that's the only way toxic Trump hating mentality can construe it, regardless of reality.
