Funny old world.  Between threads about war & the struggling economy, we get a boring vlogger talking about British food. 🤷‍♂️

  • All this food looks both unhealthy and disgusting.   British simply can't live off the land and eat Thai food.   The woman doing the expose is clueless as to how unappetizing it al

  • Trouble with all you foreigners is that you wouldn't know decent food if it poked you in the eye,    Lets start with this Great British culinary classic,

Funny how someone can have something go viral that loads of ex-pats already know and could have made the same video and no-one would have been interested.  As humans we're all the same and it's what someone looks like that attracts people.  If a middle aged,  ugly git had put the same video out, it would have probably got about 10 views.

Another wannabe peddling rubbish stories.

So much better content out there covering

food in Thailand.

Never had a sad looking roast like that before, well it’s not a roast, bangers and mash authenticity in the pic is way off too. Keep on searching girl …

I am going to disagree with you about McDonalds in Thailand being the same as in the U.S. of A. (if that is where you mean).

I usually not to eat at a McDonalds in the U.S. of A. because the food there does not taste good.   The food in McDonalds in Thailand tastes much better.   I am not sure why.

Sometimes after eating a burger at a McDonalds in Thailand when I am back in the U.S. of A., I will order the same burger in McDonalds there.   They do not taste the same.

No I did not mean McDonald’s In  usa , a Big Mac  meal in Ireland is the same as any I’ve had in Thailand only difference is Thailand  is cheaper

After this video my preferred food list =

1) Italian

2).Japanese

3) US Steak Houses ( only Quality Steakhouses )

Some Turkish,  Lebanese,  Greek,  Indian.

she'd be doing well to find that wherever she went   but lucking at her I reckon she favours hairy fish pie, Why else would she come here?    furthermore considering the price of food like that over here, which i don't think was mentioned, a few weeks of eating on a regular basis would be more expensive than flying back home and eating the real thing

How much do these tik tok twits make?

Was in there a couple of weeks ago, had the roast half chicken it was 295bt, I think the pork with crackling is the same price, the beef and lamb are around 350bt.

I must admit pies here are invariably better than the usual UK offerings like hollands or pukka etc

I guess because they are all basically home made

About 10 years ago a friend and myself decided to find what we thought was the best full-english breakfast, mainly in the lower Sukhumvit area of Bangkok. The Chequers Bar in Soi Nana came out top, and what was the Queen Victoria pub in Soi 23 came a close second, I think we sampled 10 places.

There was a period of a few years before that where you could get a proper Sunday roast buffet at The Londoner - now that was excellent food. I never did find anything quite like it since those days back around 2010 to 2012. I think it cost about 500 Baht per person at the time. They also had a load of seafood/thai stuff out as well so it wasn't roast dinner only.

I'm sure it exists but I like to eat in the evening and they had 2 separate sittings - one in the evening when I'm ready for dinner, not lunch, I like a light lunch.

These chicken they use - in a lot of these roast places in Bangkok - with the skin on. Where are they getting them from? They're rank. That's not a roast chicken.

I've seen the same British places use them in Chiang Mai and Phuket too.

Ghastly

Get a proper big chicken ( i assume Turkey is not available here). Cut it properly onto peoples plates.

Who the hell serves skin.

Personal taste obviously, but roast chicken should absolutely have the skin on as long as it is crispy, golden and nice.

I agree that the "old" Londoner on the corner of 33 had the best buffet in town and the selection of starters was fantastic with the poached salmon being the favourite. Since they moved the Oak in 33/1 provides the best Sunday roast.

I think after she has eaten some Faggotts and Mushy Peas, she needs a good portion of Spotted Dick!

Just Google it!🥳

Pub lunch in the UK is over 20 quid, at under 8 quid the Brit food here was a bargain.

Absolutely when it's advertised as half roast chicken, that's what it is, skin an all.

Well, at least there’s one positive comment in here. But honestly, this thread more than most really showcases the depths of grumpy, miserable-boomer energy that occasionally bubbles up on this forum. How bleak do some people need to be?

I’m only surprised we haven’t had the inevitable “I didn’t come to Thailand to eat Western food” comment yet - or some tired remark about her looks. Give it time, though...

Western food and British Food in Thailand - there's plenty around and a lot of it is excellent - Thailand really is a foodies paradise for all types of cuisine.

Well as an American, I find it difficult to praise the foods from the the UK/US as those diets have created nations of unhealthy citizens, eating fattening fried foods but just like opinions, people have diets that they like to eat, unfortunately, those that eat healthy end up paying for the health care of those that eat unhealthy diets through hospital and health insurance costs IMHO based on my lifestyle and from a multitude of health writings.

Someone should teach her how to use cutlery properly.

I have only fried sliced potatoes as were done in rural Louisiana .  Learned from my dad in the 1950's.   Slice the potatoes to about 1/4 inch thick, fry till soft inside (or your preference), put onto your plate and enjoy.

Those potatoes in the picture are sliced differently, but look like they were fried in a pan.   I was asking how they are cooked in order to find out if they are cooked the same or differently.

My Thai wife, a professional Thai cook, boils sliced potatoes, stops boiling them while they are still firm, then fries them.  Those are OK, but they don't have the same taste as those cooked the way I learned from my dad.

Ok, I have not eaten any McDonalds burgers in Ireland.   Only been there in transit at an airport a couple of times.

Come on man.   There are parts of Pennsylvania where the one in the pink shorts is not considered fat!  Just a little overweight.

The last time I lived in Europe was in Germany back in 1961 - 1963.   I was a pre-teen and turned 13 over there.  My dad was stationed there while in the Army.

Yes, they could be walmart hotties (🤢).   I have seen some riding the electric shopmobile cart and I think, too fat to walk?  Especially when I see them drive the cart out to their car and it isn't parked in a handicap parking space.

There's been a fair few insults thrown at her on this topic, now you're really scrapping the barrel with that one, if she'd have been American she wouldn't actually know how to use a knife 🙂
