Will Trump's "war on facts" eventually catch up with him?

It does baffle me how Trump  can be described as a successful capitalist. Three casinos went bankrupt under his management.

Casinos are places where people line up to give the casino money, at a guaranteed house return averaging 15%.

It's like going broke owning a brewery in Australia.

So? I have not paid tax for 10 years.

You are omitting what the tariffs will cost Americans. They are taxes too.

You were discussing tax burdens, and your country's overall tax burden is higher.

The thing is that once trump leaves office, his support will evaporate. It is not going to be transferred to Jr or Vance, it will be gone. Congress and SCOTUS have been looking for a reset and they are going to take it.

What support do democrats have left other than the weirdos here?

Yes, with a net worth of 6.4 bilion USD it's a real mystery.

Trump probably doesn't care, as he has like 3 and a half years to do what he wants, then it's over and something new will emerge... let's hope it's someone younger from both sides, as it is needed that we have people that understand the modern world instead of nostalgic old men trying to turn the clock back.

Yes, the young knight JD Vance.

He'll make Trump look like a moderate centrist.

Lol.

The bench is not looking very good at the moment.

Yes it is, before tariffs.

We also have a functioning public health and education system. Our medications cost one-third to one quarter of what yours do. Private health insurance is about one-third of what it costs in America.

Your Social Security system is under attack. Doing that to the Australian Age Pension is electoral suicide.

You get what you pay for.

You need to get back onto your anti-psychotic meds.

I don't honestly think Vance has what it takes to convince everyone to vote for him... maybe a charisma deficet there for him. But there could be others that energe in the next few years that can replace him.

As for the Dems.... Harris would be a mistake, need someone new... no crazy word salads would help too.

1) You have no idea of the tax burden imposed by tariffs.

2) Medicals have nothing to do with this topic.   You are moving the goalpost.  This is a common tactic used by leftists when losing the debate.

3) SS is not under attack.

Come on man,  you can do better than this.

I would give Tucker Carlson better odds than Vance.

They're both incredibly horrible but in very different ways.

Possibly more dividends on the way for lower income people.

Come on, the hate for this man is exaggerated and you folks are way too arrogant to ever admit anything positive he does.

Yes, a few people have said that, though Vance comes across as highly articulte and intelligent. He may lack a bit of gravitas now, due to his youth. This may improve as he gets older.

Harris would be a no hoper clearly.

List your yearly achievements. Lets compare to Trump.

Yeah, his promise to drain the swamp...I note regular reports in all media say that his family's wealth has more than doubled since he took office.  He said in April that he would sign a bill prohibiting congress people and their aides from buying stocks due to the insider trading laws.  In 2012 a bill governing the congress and stock buying was signed but has totally failed.  A recent bill prohibiting stock trading and congress/aides was passed by the Senate but now DJT is slamming the sponsor of that bill.  I get it for sure, he is the SWAMP. IMHO anyway.

Not really, banruptcies, business failures are part and parcel of most successful businessmen's resumes. Very common. As are legal actions.

He was elected in a democratic election. You're basically calling millions of people in America idiots. That's presumptious to say the least.

Well I wouldn't go so far as to call Trump supporters idiots. I would just say that they had a very poor alternative with Harris and Trump was very good at convincing them that he represented their best interests. So, I think gullible is probably the more correct terminology.

That's absolutely correct, and that's something that a lot of Americans haven't quite been able to wrap their minds around, he's a 14 ft crocodile, he's repopulated Washington with 14 ft crocodiles, and the man is likely more corrupt than any american president in history. And his corruption is not just of a financial nature, his corruption extends to his entire persona and his heart and soul.

Vance is an absolute nightmare, the man has no character, no integrity, he'll say or do anything and I consider him to be an absolute phony on every level.

As a Centrist Democrat I totally agree that Harris needs to be banished forever she has nothing to offer she was terrible candidate she's completely disingenuous and she doesn't have any policy. The sooner the party gets rid of her the better, they need youthful, and dynamic candidates who offer some hope and the possibility that somebody can bring America back from the abyss.

90% of which was earned from scams, stolen from small contractors, or amassed through huge bankruptcies.

Is that truly the sign of a stable genius? Or somebody that you want leading the nation?

1/ No one knows Trump's net worth. Only what he claims, which could be completely false. His empire is built on other people's money.

2/ I don't call bilking contractors, shareholders and the public being a successful capitalist. On that yardstick, so is Ronnie Biggs.

Warren Buffett or Charlie Munger are successful capitalists.

I don't owe anyone money, and have enough to last me for the rest of my life. My son and GF will inherit from me.

I guess that makes me a successful capitalist too.

Not sure if you have followed the rest of this thread but....."Only what he claims".....sorry, but if he claims he is worth 6.4 billion dollars then he is worth 6.4 billion dollars......why would he lie?

That is how they know he is lying - when he opens his mouth to breath..and speak.
