I feel like old people like you need to learn when to turn off the computer.

I feel people like you need to learn to turn on their brains before posting.

That sentence does contain a fairly big assumption.

Wow, 75,000,000 of them, I think you'd better ask all the American folk you have to deal with, if they are Dem's, though going by your stuff on here, you probably do................🤥

People on SS are not paying the SS tax.

Wrong.

Those whose income is high enough to get taxed on SS benefits are paying the tax on those benefits back into the SS fund.

t's not only about SSA. Former administrations declared "war on poverty". With limited success.

These days, the "war against the poor" has officially started in the US, with the blessing of the president.

For ages, extreme "right wingers" in the US have advocated the ultimate Social Security System:

"Let them eat s*it and let them die".

True. But only for some people that will get a benefit from that.  Not even close to all SS recipients. Again, Trump lied. Face facts.

So you got caught in a lie, again.

Ninety percent of seniors will benefit from the extra standard deduction.

How so?  Be specific.

Let's get. back to the topic.  Name a Democrat who does not lie.

In your constant efforts to derail the discussion you have clearly forgotten what the actual topic is:

Yes please, be specific.

No.

If one receives SS benefits and one's income exceeds the threshold for taxation of the SS benefits, the tax on the SS benefits goes back into the SS fund.

https://www.ssa.gov/oact/progdata/taxbenefits.html

From the SS link: "Under legislation enacted in 1983, the Social Security Trust Funds receive income based on Federal income taxation of benefits. The funds receive taxes on up to 50 percent of benefits from single taxpayers with incomes over $25,000 and from taxpayers filing jointly with incomes over $32,000."

This is completely separate from Social Security payroll taxes deducted from wage earnings, but it is indeed taxation and it does go into the SS trust fund, so it is SS tax.

Well we already have determined that the only lies are spewed by your ilk.

Lets look at the OP. Why would I believe his interpretation of what may be a lie? He beleives that Men can become women by clicking their heels 3x. He thinks that the Russia hoax was real. And he is expected to know and tell the truth? Not

SSA as in Social Security which so many of us American expats living in Thailand depend on.

Trump claims credit for fixing Social Security as it barrels toward insolvency - The Washington Post

www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/08/14/trump-social-security-90th-annniversary/

To wit:

Trump did not eliminate SS taxes as he lied he did.

Trump's policies do not strengthen the future of SS as he lied that they did. Instead he weakened it's future.

Trump via DOGE did not improve the service of SS as he lied that he did. Instead, he degraded it.

On top of the big lies mentioned in the article it should also be noted that Trump's firing of a respected objective statistician to be replaced with a maga cult loyalist threatens the future accuracy of COLAs. To explain this, the Trump regime obviously wants to deny inflation for political reasons. COLAs are based on inflation statistics. With a Trump's yes man feeding fake numbers to please the dear leader Trump, it's fair to think that the ultimate result of future COLAs under Trump will be lower than they would have been with real numbers.

In fairness as far as Trump lying. Of course he lies constantly, much more than any other president in history.

So it isn't really news when he tells lies.

Rather it's news about the rare occasions that he tells the truth.
