Trump: The Big Beautiful Failure

Featured Replies

If we put aside all the media noise and negative commentary about Trump, looking past all of his own grift, corruption, criminality, sex related crimes, and even the fact that he's an insurrectionist and a traitor, and focus only on his recent campaign promises and achievements, I would say that the only positive action he has taken in his seven months in office so far is bombing Iran. That took a great deal of courage and leadership. Whether it actually achieved anything in slowing down Iran's nuclear program remains to be seen, but the act itself showed decisiveness and should be acknowledged.

Aside from that, he has failed to end the war in Ukraine or in Gaza, failed to lower grocery costs for Americans, failed to release the Epstein files, failed to eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits, failed to reduce taxes for the poor, failed to create any type of national healthcare program, failed to cut two trillion dollars in federal spending and balance the budget, and the list goes on. He has also failed to bring back jobs to America and has, in fact, contributed to a slowdown in new job creation, which has just resulted in a sudden rise in unemployment. He has essentially failed to deliver on all of his major campaign promises. In reality, seven months is enough time for him to have achieved at least a handful of these priorities, yet he has not.

There are also broader failures worth noting. He has failed to secure meaningful immigration reform, failed to restore trust in American institutions, failed to unite a deeply divided nation, failed to take meaningful action on affordable housing, and failed to present a clear and consistent foreign policy strategy beyond reactive measures. Not to mention all the added chaos and confusion caused by his tariff madness.

At this point, there is little more that can be said. Love him or hate him, call it a hoax, a witch hunt, some sort of anti-Trump syndrome, or whatever buzzword you like, the reality is that he has become a lame duck president. In fact, he has done more harm to Americans, their quality of life, their public welfare programs, their freedom of speech, and their civil liberties than any president in modern American history. In a word, he's basically achieved absolutely nothing to make America great again.

Nations all over the world are cancelling orders for US goods and services. Domestic demand alone won't stop many businesses from going under.

Tariffs are a tax on Americans. If you don't understand that, you have the IQ of a turnip.

yes, and you don't think his (alleged) sex crimes are part of the "media noise"?

because he's not the dictator of the universe.

there are other people in power who don't want the war in ukraine to end.

JFC, you are dumb.   Taxes were lowered for the middle class, and seniors have an extra 6000 dollars added to their standard deduction.

but his campaign was all about Americans First..........Correct, but the 'Americans' he meant were himself, close family and anyone who knows what's in the Epstein files.

I think he's referring to the deranged copying of a Law and Order SVU plot about an encounter in the changing room. The "victim" went on to describe rape as "sexy".

100% horse pucky.

The trouble with any posts like this takes me back to a college course Technical Writing 101. The primary tenet was "consider your audience."

We essentially have two camps - those with working brains (aka "the choir") and those with nonfuntional brains (aka "MAGAnistas").

You won't receive anything other than thumbs down from the nonfunctional brains camp because they have no reasonable arguments. Your points are backed by facts, Kryptonite to the MAGAnistas. For the rest of us, you're preaching to the choir.

I'll get the perfunctory thumbs down for this post from the MAGAnistas without so much as a reply calling me anything from their boring bag of standard name-calling (leftie, woke, blah blah blah). Because, again, they have no arguments they can back up with facts though I wish they'd try.

Let's see you bring some facts to the table.

Ah...E Jean Carroll. Convicted by a jury of his peers in civil court of sexual assault. The judge called it rape.

Then there's the 25 or so women who says he groped them over the years.

He's a convicted sex offender according to the law of the land.

Do you understand the difference between civil court and criminal court?

You might at least try to make an argument regarding what parts are BS.

Otherwise, you lose like a Trumper, though I guess Trumpers have been losing since birth, which is why they're Trumpers.

Yes. A sex offender is a sex offender.

Just because he dodged criminal status due to the statute of limitations, he was still found guilt of sexual assault and must pay both for the assault and the subsequent crybaby lying defamation.

I wonder....would you let a guy babysit your daughter or granddaughter if he was "only" convicted of sexual assault in a civil court?

1) Taxes

2) Sex crimes

Also, Trump has only been in office for 7 months.

Did anyone report this to the police?  Face it, it was a he-said-she-said with no evidece.

Just now, NanLaew said:

Do you understand that the case involving E. Jean Carroll was a 'he said, she said' situation with no evidence?

America was the first country to mass produce cars. It's one yardstick of a country's economic status.

The most powerful car made in America is the Lucid Air Sapphire, an EV with 895 kW.

BYD is about to unveil a sedan with 2220 kW power output.

That's one indicator of how far behind the US has fallen. High speed rail is another.

I suppose you'd let a civilly convicted sex offender babysit your daughter. MAGAs are just so forgiving.

Also, poster said 'start to finish'. Perhaps you missed that.
