Road Rage (Foreigner Style)

Cut me off, then after beeping at him, he does it again. Then proceeds to block me and my daughter from going home after picking her up from school, then gets out and threatens us, and takes a few punches at my window, this one might get reported to my local police station tomorrow, still deciding.

Yeah, I agree. The man is an idiot and hopefully he'll get a slap one day, but it's hardly a matter for the police. Forget it, move on. And generally don't beep at people, it can be very dangerou

Unbelievable. Where was he from?

Not sure, i am guessing Russian or Ukraine. Second idiot like this I have run into here, it's where we have a gym, I am assuming roid rage?

That  was certainly not normal behaviour. I'd report him to police as well.

You have his car licence, and the behavior on camera.

IMO he is toast if you follow up with the police.

Do they usually act out like that in front of 9 year old girls? My daughter asked me how I stay so calm....LOL Many years of dealing with idiots back home in the USA, the more animated they are, the more they make me laugh.

My wife wants me to, so maybe I'll make a trip tomorrow.

Hardly carved you up though ! OK, he's a complete moron of a character, but if you hadn't beeped him, he'd have been on his way. Seems like he may have  been long gone if not for the people crossing in front of him, for whom you would have presumably  had to stop for in any case.

Is there ever any positive outcome when you beep at someone cutting you off?

The guys who cut you off know they're being aholes and driving dirty, 99% of the time. Unless it's a bad woman driver or sth.

Beeping just enrages them. Next time, I suggest you don't beep.

Aholes on the road will be aholes. Beeping will only cause them to lose it.

Beeping is to inform the other driver that they are about to hit you, a normal person would notice then correct before they collide, not turn into a psychopath.

Yes. Russians as well. I remember I was in the car with my father in law, and my Russian ex wife at the time, and he must have made some driving manouvre that irritated some Russian driver. At a traffic light that Russian driver got out, much in the same way as this Georgian guy did, and he wanted to fight my father in law. There were women and children in the car too. They don't care.

Russians and Georgians will kill you and not think twice. Mafia is part of daily life there. It's hard to explain.

If that's the case, then ok.

Not related to road rage, but I witnessed a falang going psychotic in a food court. I didn't see exactly what happened. Another guy bumped into him accidentally, I'm guessing? The guy went completely psychotic.

Of course, I beep all the time, all day long. As do most Thai car and motorcycle drivers.

He is supposed to stay in that left lane. The road he is coming out of has two left turning lanes, the left lane for turning into the left lane, the right lane for turning left or right, meaning you can turn into the second lane only from that right lane. You can't change lanes while rounding the corner.

"As do most Thai car and motorcycle drivers.! Really? not my experience at all, Thais know the other driver may carry a gun or knife and crazy enough to use it. I know one Thai carry's his Glock 19 with him in the car, I asked him one day why and said everyone around where he lives has a gun,

Well, I live in a civilized city, not in Phuketski. The only guns here are the water guns in the Central Festival mall toilets.

And if you want to survive on Thailand's roads you better learn how to beep.

Unfortunately, in Thailand beeping can frequently be interpreted as aggressive and rude.

I still remember my first driving instructor more than 60 years ago. He said if you need to use the car horn, it's your own bad driving that has created the necessity.

That person gets arrested in the US.

Ridiculous statement. So you just let them ram into you while they’re sloping over into your lane, right?

Not sure if the OP is a new driver in Thailand but that's how people drive here. They cut you off, don't signal. drive in the shoulder emergency lane, etc. etc...you need to have tougher skin. You could have easily honked at a Thai driver which we all know can get easily offended at the slightest tap of a horn and it couldn't have gotten a lot worse for you as I been driving in Thailand for 20 years and seen all kind of crazy rad rage which could have easily been avoided.

Been here for 9 years, seen all types of idiocy on Thai roads.

That's fine. I'd rather survive.

Countless times given them a laugh and made sure they can see it, that always gets them good.
