Modern Weed is Poison

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

As I've pointed out in other threads, I don't do weed.

But can the weed smokers keep an open mind to what this guy is saying?

Please watch the video and all feedback is welcome. If you think it's BS, then feel free to say so.

He claims modern weed is poison. It's not what human beings are meant to be smoking.

Then he claims this:

Unless you know who's growing  in TH the product is loaded with equivalent of miracle grow and all sorts of pesticides and yes it's absolutely hydroponic garbage.

below is taken from AI :

PGR weed refers to cannabis grown using plant growth regulators (PGRs) in Thailand, a practice known to be common on many farms there. PGRs are chemicals used to enhance bud growth and density but are not recommended as they can negatively affect the cannabis quality, leading to weaker aromas, duller colors, fewer trichomes, and a harsh chemical taste upon consumption. You can often identify PGR weed by its rock-hard, dense buds with a smooth, rounded shape, often accompanied by excessive reddish-brown pistils and a lack of trichomes, which are the hair-like structures that produce cannabinoids and terpenes.

What are PGRs?

  • PGRs are plant growth regulators that stimulate specific parts of the plant to promote growth and "fatten up" the buds.
  • They do not increase the production of cannabinoids like THC or terpenes but create an appearance of higher potency.
How to Identify PGR Weed
Look for the following characteristics, which are often tell-tale signs of PGR treatment:

  • Bud Structure:
Buds are unusually hard, heavy, and have a spongy, dense, and rounded texture.
  • Color:
The bud often has a duller color than naturally grown cannabis.
  • Pistils:
There are often excessive, visible brown or red pistils (hairs) on the bud.
  • Trichomes:
There may be fewer visible trichomes (the tiny crystals on the cannabis flower).
  • Smell and Taste:
PGR weed tends to have a weaker scent and a harsh chemical taste when consumed.
Why Avoid PGR Weed?
  • Lower Quality:
While the buds look dense, they contain less of the desired cannabinoids and terpenes, resulting in a weaker effect and flavor.

  • Potential Health Concerns:
Although the exact long-term effects are not fully understood, synthetic PGRs have been associated with phytotoxic (toxic to plants) effects and may pose health risks.

  • Chemical Residue:
Chemical residues from PGRs can remain on the cannabis, leading to a harsh chemical taste and potentially adverse effects upon consumption.

What to Look for Instead
  • Naturally Grown Cannabis:
Seek out cannabis from cultivators who use natural methods, such as "living soil" or organic techniques.

  • Distinct Characteristics:
Look for naturally fluffy buds with a strong aroma, a variety of trichomes, and well-defined flower and leaf structures.

Like anything the information is out there

Sure is. How about expressing it as human.

Your second comment proves your first. Different strains have different effects and different people are effected differently. As for being "numbed" out on a couch listening to music or whatever it's a great way to relax. Dope isn't one size fits all so generalising about isn't a fit.

I sometimes run out of home grown when I'm away from home and must say I've had a few goes at the commercial stuff in the shops and never found much difference, but then again I go by look and smell, if you know you know.

It's good to see that, even though you don't do weed, you are very supportive and positive to those who choose to be uplifted and energized.

Thank you for the inspirational and thoughtful video.

That chap seems like the sort of person I'd take advice from.

That's his opinion only. Just because he made a video doesn't make him an expert. If you actually enjoyed weed yourself, you would know better than to listen to that hippie.

I scanned this dude's YouTube channel. Yikes, most of the videos seem to be about taking all sorts of drugs ('Shamanic Plants').

Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, guy's obviously a crackpot.

Keep smoking whatever you're smoking.

No coffee or tea then?

Indica is also originally sungrown and natural. Which has the terpenes that give that couch lock feeling etc.

People are too fixated on thc strength when the buzz one gets is far more complicated than just....hey bro this is 28 percent thc.

Its all about the terpenes.

I do agree about modern large scale big companies growing though. Its trash.

i have been saying this for a while, the stuff today is not the same
one problem is you quickly build up a tolerance,
when smoking 3-5% hash in the 90's you would barely build up a tolerance,
everyday get stoned, as you would not need much
this new high grade, doesn't work for me after a week, yet it much higher THC levels
i also remember in the 90's when G13 was apparently acquired,  and G13 hybrids were everywhere
that was the first time i was wowed by 19% and then 21% it was unheard of back then
G13 hybrids were the start of todays high grade

i will leave you all research G13 strain origin
and yes that was the back story back in the 90's
and since then everyone have just been cross breeding everything

I know zero about this guys back story but I know a bit about weed.....

And yes I agree there does seem to be a organized world wide push in many different areas of life to make people feel less healthy and sicker, so I doubt weed is any different....

Look at just about any thing really....From highly processed food  with loads of MSG, Aspartame, and a laundry list of chemicals....To polyester clothing which is known to be bad for people but about 80-90% of  clothing is polyester,To fluoride in the water, to terrible fast food bla bla bla it just goes on and on.....

And the truth is about 95% of people dont give a rats azz about any of this.....So I bet most people are just too  dumbed down to really even notice the difference between good clean weed and a hybrid weed full of chemicals.....

Many people revert to the tired old trope that today's weed is bad and only they know what good weed is/was.

Fair enough.

Instead of posting "articles" about "poison" and "PGRs", and reminiscing about hash and Thai sticks from 1960's, how about posting what strains you like and where they can be sourced here in Thailand today.

Couldn't you just smoke LESS per session? So with 20% THC weed, just smoke 1/4 as much as you normally would? Surely it's the mg of THC you're consuming that is the determining factor?

I mean I'm not going to drink the same volume of alcohol in beer, wine or spirits.

I don't fully trust AI, but to save time I will use it for some things.

I wouldn't base a life or death decision on AI though.

They're called "Sirens", from the 9th Century BC, Homer, The Odyssey.

And it's Corporate Logo, not a "warning".

No clue what they'll look like in Christopher Nolan's next film.
