Nobel prize winner says US institutions have collapsed much quicker than expected under the Trump administration

Quote

She drew comparisons between the Trump administration and the government of the former president Rodrigo Duterte in her home country of the Philippines, saying: “If you don’t move and protect the rights you have, you lose them. And it’s so much harder to reclaim them.”

If poor Jimmy Kimmel thinks he is so oppressed, he is free to file a case in federal court and make the case that his First Amendment rights here were violated.

Your first mistake was watching an interview with Harris.

You said the courts are keeping Trump in check.  Guess what, that means the system is working.   The courts are a coequal branch of government.

But the courts are not keeping him in check.  SCOTUS is overturning them on just about everything that matters.

Nonsense now I know your accomplishments in life are far greater than being a lawyer or a DA or the AG for the state with the 4 th largest economy on the planet not to mention the paltry low level job as a senator and vice president of the United States….cann it you make yourself look stupid.

The Get Trump era was more fun than the Get Payback era it seems🤣

In your opinion, what has SCOTUS not overruled that you feel should have been overturned?

Dude, Harris is the ultimate F-up bumb candidate.  Let's extrapolate your doe-eyed love of elected officials to Trump or any Republicans.  Does holding elected office make someone the most accomplished person on the planet?

I remember seeing old sleepy Joe Biden trying to answer questions from the press while he was obviously caught off guard, which was most of the time. This occurred even though the left wing press choose to stifle their questions so that old Joe could make an attempt at answering them. Now that American, old Joe, was certainly a "deer-in-the-healight."

The weaponization of Kirk’s death is so alarming that even one of Trump’s former allies is rattled. Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host who was once one of the loudest voices in the Magasphere, recently issued a stark warning about the way that the Trump administration appears to be leveraging Kirk’s murder to trample civil liberties.

“You hope that a year from now, the turmoil we’re seeing in the aftermath of [Kirk’s] murder won’t be leveraged to bring hate speech laws to this country,” Carlson said on Wednesday during an episode of his podcast. This was in reference to Attorney General Pam Bondi’s comments (which she has now walked back) that the Trump Department of Justice would “target” people disseminating “hate speech” following Kirk’s killing.

“And trust me, if it is, if that does happen, there is never a more justified moment for civil disobedience than that, ever,” Carlson added. “Because if they can tell you what to say, they’re telling you what to think … There is nothing they can’t do to you because they don’t consider you human.”

Even Tucker Carlson is worried about Trump’s free speech crackdown

Tucker Carlson, the new hero of the left.

I guess Dick Chaney or John Bolton weren’t available for comment.

This lady has more testicular fortitude than the current POTUS and his whole cabinet, and all the GOP members of US Congress, put together.

She may have that giggly Filipino way of speaking English that still grates on my nerves (like a teacher I had in 7th grade) but the way she stood up to "Duterte Harry" makes her one of the most laudable public figures in world politics these days, IMO.

And she's still alive!

It's okay to watch, if only to see how big a bullet we dodged back in November.

Name 3 of her accomplishments.

And "getting elected" doesn't count.  I mean 3 things that she actually did right while in office.  Or in her life.

She's very skilled at getting support and getting elected.  But that could be down to her looks and "other skillset", eh?  Just not at actually doing the jobs she was elected to do.

BTW, if you want a good chuckle, watch what Judge Joe Brown says about her "skillsets".

BTW, he now has massive banners of himself hanging from Federal Buildings...massive as in tens of meters.

Big Brother. Bow to your master!

Truly sick cult.

He must be trying to say to Kim Jong-un:

"My dick pic is bigger than yours"

Charlie Kirk is a comet along the lines of Kahoutek. He will fade and be forgotten, as he isn't significant in any way, except in bad ways (racist, misogynist, patronizing to women).

Jimmy Kimmel now stands as someone who will be far more significant in US history, as he represents the focal point of the rights of Free Speech, as put in the very First Amendment of the glorious US Constitution, written by Madison and Jefferson, and which Trump hates so much.

Some people, not intentionally, become an historical focal point. Think Brown (vs Board of Education in Kansas) or Miranda (as in Miranda Rights)  or Roe (actually McCorvey) of Roe v Wade.

Whether the First Amendment continues to exist will be a function of how the Jimmy Kimmel matter is adjudicated, likely by the Supreme Court. It will be interesting when Carr and Trump are deposed under oath.
