  • It's perfectly legal to hire an agent to help facilitate a visa and or extension.

  • Yes, in Chiang Mai. Absolutely no problem, I had bank accounts in CM already mind you. So you can do the visa thing in St. Pattayasberg and return to live your normal life in CM.    You just

Yes! But they are more expensive. Use Manareet in Pats, they are the best and least expensive.

In todays climate of bank accounts being checked and locked I would be very careful living in Chiang Mai and having my visa issued in Chonburi "Jomtien". Just seems it could come back to haunt you in the future. Now I am a worrier and really dont care if you have the money or not. Just seems dicey to me.

I have used OS VISA on soi 6 Niemman multiple  times for many Visa issues.  Always very happy with the results.

My neighbor has happily used STAR VISA near the NEW USA embassy building.  He has mentioned how happy has been with their service.

I think the price spread is +10k between Pats and CM due to convenience and less competition....and factoring in roundtrip travel costs/hotels.

Yes, nut not to commit visa fraud by declaring the money is in the bank and properly seasoned.

The issuance is at the discretion of the immigration officer. No fraud involved. The officer can make a determination if he sees fit. Extension or visa is perfectly legal.

Whether that involves some form of financial inducement is irrelevant.

Much the same as arriving in Thailand visa waiver or with a visa, the immigration officer makes the decision whether you will be permitted entry.

Ask the agents. All available in Google or maps.

Hardly any of the Visa agents in CM reply to messages via email or LINE....I contacted all of them and only two replied from eight messages.

Check out Colonial Visa Agent opposite CM Immigration, pricey but spot on, and no BS.

I didn't say you should send emails 🤩🎉🥳.

Such "delicate" issues you have to keep under the blanket of course.

So talk in person.

Where do you declare that during the extension process?

It goes back to the original visa.

The extension issued and stamped in passport is just as legit whether the agent offered his services  to help with the finances or you ploughed along and did it yourself.

You can say fraud, fraud till the cows come home, if it makes you feel better.

If the extension is issued from a province you do not live in that is 100% fraudulent and illegal, however it was obtained

Not if the money WAS in the bank when the original visa was applied for.

Being able to waste a whole day applying for an extension of stay is the only achievement many of these people can boast of each year. They're literally not qualified to do anything else, that's why they have a tantrum every time the subject of agents is discussed. And they always conveniently ignore the massive hypocrisy of taking such a saintly position on visa agents here on this message board, considering its origins.

Somewhere along the line you attest that you are and will remain in compliance with all applicable regulations. The money is just one of the regulations that you agree to. Adherence to the laws of Thailand is another, including public corruption statutes.

No, they get a photo of my relevant page in the passport and do the online thing locally.

As the system always has issues I much prefer they do it, only 800 baht.

That's for the 90 day reporting.

The annual extension yes you go there again.

The 90-day is not done on-line. Maybe you send it on-line, but it is delivered to relevant Immigration office to be stamped and signed, returned to the agent, then posted to you.

No I don't. I've never done that. I send a picture and some money. I attest to absolutely nothing. You've clearly never done it yourself so please stop posting completely false information and misleading others.

Thank you for your information. I used a different Visa Agent whilst living in Pattaya. Then moved away and done retirement extensions myself since. I want to employ an agent in future. Do you need to attend the immigration office for your desk cam photo? Or, can Manareet do a retirement extension totally remotely by post?
