An American tourist has been found dead in his hotel room on Nanai Road in Patong, Phuket, prompting a police investigation into the cause of death. The 31-year-old man, who had travelled from California, was due to check out on the morning of 26 September when staff discovered his body.

The alarm was raised at around 11.45 after repeated attempts by hotel staff to contact the guest went unanswered. Officers from Patong Police Station, led by Lieutenant Colonel Chanarong Prakongkeo, attended the scene along with rescue workers from the Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation. They found the man lying face down on the bed and dressed, wearing a black short-sleeved T-shirt, black shorts and white socks.

Police confirmed there were no visible signs of injury or disturbance inside the room. A preliminary examination by a forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital also found no evidence of physical trauma. Investigators have stated there appears no obvious suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident at this stage.

The tourist had checked into the hotel alone on 19 September and was not reported to have raised any complaints during his stay. Staff said he kept to himself and was not seen leaving the premises in the hours before his death. His body has been sent for a full toxicology report to establish the cause.

“The body has been sent for a full toxicology report. At this stage, we are treating the case as an unexplained death pending further examination,” police said in a statement. The US Embassy in Bangkok has been informed and is assisting in contacting the man’s next of kin. The investigation remains open while authorities await results from the hospital’s toxicology screening.

Key Takeaways

• A 31-year-old American tourist was found dead in a Patong hotel room on 26 September.

• Police found no signs of injury or disturbance, and foul play is not suspected.

• The body has been sent for toxicology tests as the cause of death remains unclear.

Seems a common occurrence in Pattaya...

It's sadly common all over the world.  Can't imagine what his family and friends are going through just now.

How would he have reincarnated? What animals have a gestation and birth of less than 24 hours?

More than likely after dying he was guilt tripped or coerced, by demonic entities posing as dead loved ones, into coming back into a new body somewhere in this cesspit hell realm called earth.

For all we know he could be reborn in some sh!thole shantytown in Lagos - or perhaps, equally disturbing - a suburb of Minneapolis.

Second possibility: His consciousness was extinguised forever at physical death.

Weren't there a few more of these earlier in the year?  Younger people died for no obvious reason?

I know in Laos the moonshine has been a problem.

There was a incident a couple of years back in Thailand where I believe 7 or more died from home made whiskey. It appears to be prevalent in the country areas from what I hear from my girlfriend and others.

Adult sudden death syndrome is not uncommon

It's one of the places we go when we die. Some think there is nothing, while some think we might come back as an oyster. Some of us see what makes more sense.
