Pattaya is preparing for a significant influx of foreign tourists in October, driven by school reopenings and year-end travel plans. This surge is expected to lead to crowded beaches, busy streets, and increased prices for hotels and services. Visitors are advised to anticipate higher costs as demand grows during this peak period.

Local businesses report rising interest from tourists, particularly from China, Europe, and the Middle East, drawn to Pattaya's beaches and nightlife. With higher hotel occupancy, both accommodation and restaurant prices are projected to climb. Transportation services may also adjust fares to mirror the bustling season.

As the October rush approaches, Pattaya's nightlife is already in full swing. Bar promotions, such as happy hour deals starting at 60 baht, are attracting early visitors and emphasizing the vibrant entertainment options. This highlights Pattaya's ongoing appeal to tourists seeking lively experiences.

Travel experts urge early planning and booking to avoid potential price increases. Despite the crowded atmosphere, Pattaya offers diverse entertainment, outdoor activities, and cultural attractions for those willing to navigate the city's busy environment. Authorities suggest using alternative routes during peak hours and staying informed about traffic and weather updates.

Key Takeaways

  • Pattaya braces for a tourism boom in October, affecting prices and crowding.
  • Tourists from China, Europe, and the Middle East are significantly contributing to increased demand.
  • Visitors are advised to book early and stay informed to manage the busy conditions.

Negative reporting about Thailand in China is because a state controlled media there has deemed it to be so. Why? Do they want to promote domestic tourism? Do they have fundamental problems with the Thai Government? What does Thailand have to do to restore favourable relations regarding tourism?

What ?

Pattaya will never be the same as it used to be. If you're a long term resident like me you would be amazed at the number of businesses that have closed down never to return. Take Second Road between Central Road and the Dolphin Roundabout. There's not much tourist action there if any whereas years ago it was very busy.

I like this. Alternative route means driving down the dodgiest side Soi you can find, totally losing your sense of direction amidst the myriad of twists and turns, and winding up at the Toyota dealership in Na Jomtien instead of Central Festival. Don't ask me how I know. :coffee1:

When I visited Pattaya last week all these tourists must have gone to Ban Chang for the evening  -  because it was dead.

And right on cue here's the story about tourism is up after yesterday's tourism is down story.  Give it a rest Thailand.  It's comical now.

Are you sure you have traveled 2nd Road between Festival and Dolphin recently?  A number of new businesses have gone in along that stretch, which spouse and I were on yesterday.  That includes the total re-do of the hotel in front of Centric Sea and some sort of private club with a very large garden area that's been put into one of the large lots stretching from 2nd Road to Beach Road.  When you get to Dolphin that whole area is being redeveloped by the Once Group, plus the huge Centre Point 3 Resort also going up.

Somewhere on 2nd Road, but likely in this same general area, Raimon Land is planning to spend 3.3 billion baht on it's newest Pattaya condo project, Tait Pattaya.   That's a big bet on the future of Pattaya.  It's the way of the world that some businesses close.  In the case of this part of Pattaya, new businesses are opening in their place, with more to come.

But yesterday's news was that Pattaya's tourism was sinking!!!!!

More flip flops than General Prayut, President TACO and a super computer.

Tomorrow's news - Pattaya dies due to no tourists.

Don't remember a story yesterday on AN specifically regarding Pattaya's tourism 'sinking'.  There was the one story yesterday on Thailand's tourism 'confidence' falling--which doesn't actually translate to specific tourism numbers but is merely some sort of survey.  The last story I saw on Pattaya tourism, in the Pattaya Mail, was one stating that 18 million tourists, both domestic and foreign, have visited Pattaya from January to August of this year.  I don't think 18 million would be interpreted as 'sinking' or 'Pattaya dies'.

Thailand is becoming a been there done it got the hat kind of location, No need to return

And then there will be November - up or down?   It’s like a Yo-Yo and they love to put it in print.

In Pattaya now.......from what I've seen it is very quite in the bars and restaurants.....quite a few tourists walking about in the streets.......but mainly gangs if Indian men.

I asked reception at the Holiday Inn what business was like......they said very, very quiet.....but they hoped the Pattaya fireworks then Christmas would bring the punters back.
