When I tried to search him first time just by name his imdb page didnt even show up. After a 2nd try adding imdb it finally showed up. Hes a TV actor starring in nothing you've ever watched.

Starring? I found him way down the credits on the second film listed. He's an armourer.

That's not acting, it's being in the film crew. #LostInTranslation

Actually that is a completely wrong assumption.

I was born and brought up at Poole in Dorset from 1944 until 1960 when I left home at 15 to serve 25 years in the RAF, followed by 7 months working in a satellite ground track station, 4 years with the Home Office, and 10 years with Motorola building mobile phone base stations in the UK and offshore.

I’m surprised that you didn’t get the joke then.

If the forces on the eastern border need solar panels, I don’t know why the Thai military don’t provide them. If they can afford submarines and aircraft carriers, a few solar panels shouldn’t be beyond them.

What has this D-celebrity done that he is so ridiculously ingratiating?

looks like he only spent a few thousand baht, how does that boost moral?

So some unknown foreigner staying in Thailand who was in a. movie 50 years ago is actually going to boost morale to soldiers? Haha... Who writes this stuff.

I wonder is this is a promotional news story to make the cambodian mess seem more tragic to Thai soldiers stationed there. I also wonder if this foreigner actually bought these things on his own and was not coerced to make such a trip.

One thing i am sure of, is that an unknown foreigner actor who was in a movie 50 years ago did not boost any morale of soldiers watching the borders.

Yeah, and what have you ever done to help ANYONE AT ALL EVER besides sit in your chair and complain and find fault? Someone does a little bit of good in the world and you have to spit on the gesture. Well, of course you do, people like him make people like you look bad, well you already look bad, you now even look worse having spewed your verbal diarrhea on the event. With your miserable foul attitude you don't belong in Thailand. Please go back where you came from and complain there.

I get the moral boosting bit. But is it good to go to a tense border region and chant 'fight, fight, fight'?

Ruined the script.

Why must I have seen that film?

And no I haven't seen that film.

There are most probably hundreds of films that I have never seen, along with thousands of books I have never read, and millions of people I have never met.

Now look up Poe's law and squirm.... E

Look at Twentyeight's post (two above you) for a clue ;D

I always find foreigners who get involved in border conflicts outside their homeland ridiculous, its a kind of fishing for compliments.

1 acting credit for 1 episode of a TV series called Gazette in 1968 when he would have been around 6 years old is what I see from IMDB.

I was bit concerned about the wife waving the flag shouting fight ! Fight ! Fight

There is no place for violence

She should be encouraging peace. And forgiveness not this violence!

The report states that it was Shelley who did that.

Been English all my life but never heard of this guy

Mark Shelley was born in November 1962 in Keighley, Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, UK. He is an actor, known for The Girl with All the Gifts (2016), Blitz (2011) and The Jacket (2005).

He was special effects and additional crew (armourer) in these.

Even with famous films, how may of the backstage crew would any of us know?

I wonder what he was smoking before? Or taking mushrooms or biscuits?

Or they paid him?

Probably a bifta - nearest he'll get to a bafta - although he just acted like a tw@ pretty convincingly...

It was just a good-hearted attempt at humor and satire, can we try to make an effort to keep this form on the lot more lighthearted side?
