New poll: 56% of Americans think Trump is a dangerous dictator

After 9 months of Trump 2, ONLY 56% of Americans think Trump is dangerous????

It says a lot about the intelligence of the population and how easily they can be conned and scammed by a snake oil salesman.

So the USA has hundreds of Nobel Prize winners and millions of "sheep" (my apologies the the animals we call sheep) - looks like a bimodal distribution, centered at the extremes of the IQ scale.

Nobel Prize means nothing nowadays.

It was given to our former President just for being black (half black actually) shortly after being elected.  Nothing was accomplished other than elected while black.

So you don't care for women's rights and transgender rights?

IMO that was fair enough, as he became a symbol of what should have been a bright future for America.

I would go so far as to say 90% of people on AN don't know the true definition of a dictator. A dictator is actionally a benevolent figure, a defender, originally, as Carl Schmitt illustrated.

But we all know this is just cheap political polemic. Not a serious point about dictatorship. Nobody in their right mind could think Trump is a dictator, and they don't either. They just want to create outrage against Trump.

Add Nazi, fascist, fascism, rapist, racist and comparisons to Adolph to all their silliness.   They really do come off as extremely uneducated.

Reality, like all president, irrelevant, and will be gone in 3+ years, and a lame duck in 1 year's time.  OP and haters, just shows their prejudice, ignorance with every silly post.

Sorry to disappoint you but DEI is not a qualified factor for US President.

Perhaps in your country it’s acceptable.

hahahahaha, a poll done by a leftist group shows 56% of the people queried(not 56% of US citizens) dont like trump, the same people that said kamala was going to win the election, democrats are getting more and more scared knowing they have screwed themselves for re election with all their total BS, desperation in full swing and loving it, maybe take a strong relaxant and go have a good lie down you poor babies

I did not say that so stop putting words in my mouth, (typical leftist response)

Why not try and give a few examples of how President Trump has negatively impacted such rights   Should be easy for you.

I recently watched an, as usual,  nauseating clip of "the view" from some time ago all the usual scaremongering including a "nation wide abortion ban "   and  "a similar ban on IVF"    Of course neither was a genuine issue ,  there has been no such ban on abortion, and the President has actually  signed a directive which will reduce the cost of IVF making it available to more people

How many of those polled were illegal immigrants?

So what rights do others have that women and transgender don’t have?    Providing they are citizens of their country..  They all have the same rights.

Trans competing in biological women’s sports and using women’s restrooms are not rights so avoid them in your answer.

Correct

Under Trump homosexual men can obtain drivers license, seek gainful employment, vote , buy a home , cars , run for political, get married etc

Anything heterosexual men can do providing all are citizens of their country.  Even lawful permanent residents have many of these rights.

Trans also have the same rights.  Minors regardless of sexual orientation shouldn’t be allowed to disfigure their genitals.  Period

All the lefts dictator BS is exactly that.  BS.

As usual.... the OP and his like are trying the same old game.   Post fake news,  then start throwing all kinds of nonsense and thumbs down childish stuff at the points and opinions of others.   Oh,  don't forget the "name calling" .

To describe these actions AND the antics of the laughable democrats  in an intelligent manner would be :

"reflexivity is part and parcel to marxist activism. you provoke your enemy into responding and then make the story about their response.

any elder sibling will be instantly familiar with this paradigm. your little brother pokes, prods, provokes, and pesters and when you hit him back, he erupts in wailing to mom and plays to the audience that is not there."

No, not enough.Trump needed 49.8% of the popular vote to win last election. Harris received 48.3% of the popular vote.

I don't put too much into the poll. It does however, show a trend in Trump's support. if it is maintained, it will not bode well for the GOP in the mid term elections. As soon as the 40+ million US citizens lose their food subsidy, there will be a noticeable shift in the public opinion. Even Republicans do not want to see children go hungry, and there are a lot of white  low income families who rely on SNAP. 16 million US children rely on SNAP for their meals. See what happens once the images of crying hungry kids hits social media.

Yeah and add to that this silly story about an extra 10% tarif for Canada, because a reference to an illustrious predecessor. Definitely no narcissistic dictator.

I am utterly amused reading Taco fanboys feeling the need to theorise about what a dictator is...

Maybe I’ll be identified.

There won't be a need. Images of  hungry children during the US depression were a decisive factor in ushering in the social benefit policies of the Roosevelt administration.

I landed in the USA last Friday and will be here for a few more days. I am in shock at the cost of food. I thought  the EU was bad, but it's no better here. US $6.99 for a small tin of almonds.$3.29 for a mid sized bottle of water, $10 for a Starbucks coffee. I had a cheap steak lunch at Outback (no alcohol) and it was $67. I was in Target today  and saw the cost  of fresh fruit and vegetables. My one small bag of groceries was $60. I honestly don't know how low income  people are expected to survive. As soon as people start going without food, you will see public unrest and a reaction. This is a country that is not at ease with itself.

Why would you wear a political slogan hat in a foreign country? Are you really that insensitive and arrogant as to believe that you can barge into another country and bring your politics with you? You would not approve of foreigners  engaging in political rivalries in the USA, so why do it to the Thais? US citizens are a very small minority in Thailand, and despite the vocal group in Asean Now, Americans are not particularly popular. Do you really want to cause a commotion and draw attention to yourself? Do yourself a favor and keep your political views to your own dwelling and circle of friends. The US consulate can't help you if you provoke a fight and get tossed into jail and then deported.

That's a strong majority thinking that.

Not just a pedestrian disapproval rating this time.

Thinking Trump is destroying American democracy just as he destroyed the east wing of the white house.

Of course -- I'm with the majority on this one.

In the same poll -- 62 percent said the nation is headed in the wrong direction (asked BEFORE the government shutdown).

Americans brand Trump a ‘dangerous dictator’ in scathing new poll - masslive.com

www.masslive.com/politics/2025/10/americans-brand-trump-a-dangerous-dictator-in-scathing-new-poll.html

More than half of all Americans have branded President Donald Trump a “dangerous dictator,” who needs to be reined in before he destroys American democracy.

Fifty-six percent of respondents to the latest American Values Survey, released by the Public Religion Research Institute on Wednesday gave that answer.

As a conservative, I find some of his recent actions to be highly concerning as those actions are in actually - Fascistic.

The use of US military on US soil against US citizens.  It violates the Posse Comitatus Act.
Blowing foreign boats out of the water without due process.  It's just wrong.
Claiming to be the Prince of Peace while fomenting wars globally with this Peace Through Strength nonsense.
Labeling those whom he dislikes as "terrorists" in order to bypass the constitutional protections of those citizens and legal residents.

Trump is a megalomaniac and has turned into a petty tyrant, and as such is a proving to be a danger to the country.
